So, since the heavy rains we had well over a week ago the access from "A" Street under 705 out to Dock Street has been closed due to a flooded roadway. Now, since the flooding we had late last year, I don't recall it taking even this long for the water to recede let along now since the temperatures have been hovering around the 80 degree mark.
Correct me if I'm wrong but something ain't right here.

by KevinFreitas on 7/14/2007 @ 7:26am | Let's hope emergency vehicles still have the access they need to get down there promptly enough. |

by AP on 7/14/2007 @ 8:32am | So... that doesn't explain standing water in July.. what gives with the drainage? |

by Jake on 7/24/2007 @ 10:49pm | Just read on this on the city website:
A Street is currently closed due to flooding on the street, which is the responsiblity of the Washington State Department of Transportation. City staff is working relentlessly to contact the DOT to remedy this situation as soon as possible.
I am sure the water is gone but this is not the first time this has happened. They need to get his fixed. |

by KevinFreitas on 7/25/2007 @ 6:21am | Thanks Jake. Haven't driven by the last couple days but, after the rain before last, the water stuck around through that intense heat wave. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some there again after the precip last week.
That's crazy. Why is WSDOT responsible for that? Because of the train tracks? Because of 705 overhead? Yeesh. |
