Lightning tonight

If anyone's awake there's a bit of lightning flashing off in the distance. If you can look to the south and southwest it's flashing a bit. There's two spots lit up on local radar. I'm capturing a bit of the light show from my webcam which I have linked below:
Hit refresh to see new shots. I'll probably also post a time lapse once the storm's over or we head to sleep. |
by KevinFreitas on 9/3/2007 @ 10:24pm | (animated webcam) Looks like one of the hot spots on the radar could be directly over the peninsula or more likely south Tacoma and downtown in about 20 or 30 minutes. |
by KevinFreitas on 9/3/2007 @ 10:38pm | The rain is probably still a bit off but now we're hearing thunder and the lightning is closer and far more frequent. Seems to be confined to within the clouds though. Checked the local traffic cams and Olympia appears to have been dumped on. |

Doesn't look like much more excited stuff will pummel us tonight. A bit more rain perhaps. Wish this sort of thing happened more often. Guess I'll just have to take that storm chasing sabbatical I've always wanted to... |

 by ensie on 9/4/2007 @ 8:48am | Frinklin didn't get home until well after 11 so I was awake for some time after leaving your house. I scrambled around the house closing windows to keep the rain out and watched the incredible lightening for some time. The dogs (and new kitty) were freaked out by the thunder, but it was very cool to see and hear. |
