|
by NineInchNachos on 4/17/2007 @ 9:34pm |
Come by the Mineral Studio to see the work and meet the artist. Show will feature four (4) new illustrated panels aprox. 18 x 28 inches in size PLUS many of the original FEED>>TACOMIC political cartoons. All art work is available for sale at reasonable prices. If you're too cheap to buy anything you can print off your own cartoons from the website and bring them to the show for the artist to PERSONALLY INSCRIBE with an INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE! Even so, come meet the cartoonist, his parents or the lovely Ms. Darcy in person. THIRD THURSDAY on the day of MAY 17th, 2007 5pm - 8pm at: Mineral 627 St. Helens (corner of South 7th & St. Helens) Tacoma, WA 98402 www.kinoworld.net |
by jenyum on 4/18/2007 @ 7:47am | There are SO MANY THINGS I'd rather be doing this Thursday night than attending the kids' "Jump a thon" at Pump it up. This included.
Maybe I can sneak away. |

by NineInchNachos on 4/19/2007 @ 9:25am | Ouch. Family Circus... low blow Erik :) |
by KevinFreitas on 4/19/2007 @ 2:57pm | I prefer The Far Side as a great one-panel comic example. |
by AP on 4/19/2007 @ 6:10pm | I liked Family Circus! |

by Erik on 5/7/2007 @ 11:26pm | Cool. What an assortment of implements you have to make Tacomic. The photographs makes if difficult to identify each object. Yet, I believe I can identify a few of them:
- Authentic Horsehair brush - A copy of The Malleus Maleficarum with illustrations for drawing references. - Stan Lee's 1874 Chippendale Desk (later seized by Marvell in a copyright infringement suit) Was I close? |
by NineInchNachos on 5/8/2007 @ 2:59pm | Scary Close Erik!
- My dad's authentic horsehair brush from a WSU college drafting class. - King's Books/ex Tacoma Public Library copy of "history of photography" flipped to Muybridge's horse reference photos. - Ex twin bed captain's bunk converted into DIY art table
also... - lettering guide - Dixon Ticonderoga No. 2 Pencils - Wood art poser doll thing - White Sanford Eraser |

Can't say I like the drawing of a woman nursing an kararoo or whatever. Think this kind of art looks pretty hippy like and of the late 60's. Don't really get it!! artplanner |

I am not sure there was much to get on this one. The "artist" was moving this week and may have switched to "automatic" mode while drawing which can be interpreted several ways. The fawn appears to be gratuitously thrown in there. The hourglass makes sense for the promotion but there does not been to be much added by the YLT connection. The most positive characterization of this Tacomic I can make is that it makes the others look even better. |
by NineInchNachos on 6/27/2007 @ 4:46pm | LAST CHANCE TO SEE this show, JUNE 30th is the last day. Stay Tuned to the Tacoma Art Listserve for more detailz to come.. . |
