The REAL reason they talk though is because it offers better interaction between a human character and her pets.Look at Garfield. He "think-speaks". More »

@ThoraxOne strip I had on Flickr (but is no longer up, and I lost the file) showed that the pets speak and act human because of Notle. The strip I made had Kaeley and Spike arguing about something, and Notle was shown frantically looking through a book at the end with a thought balloon that read, "Where the heck is that reverse-anthropomorphism spell?
