ISPs . . .who's the best?

Please compare Click internet providers. The three choices are NetVenture, Advance Stream, and Rainier Connect (formerly Harbor Net). All three offer homeowners a month by month plan for 32.95 per month. Internet access speed is 3 Mg. download. The only cost variant is installation and modem. Does anyone have favorable or unfavorable comments on these 3 providers?

I only get charged $24.99 for internet with Comcast. I think the regular price is $49.99 but all you have to do is say the magic word "Click!" once a year and you get the discounted price. Might want to see if the Click! ISPs will do the same.

I can also vouch for Advance Stream being ight. THey all use the same Click system so they should all be the same, right?

The difference is in the service, I suspect.

I currently use Advance Stream and I've no complaints beyond slow Upload Speed for the price.

Another option is ClearWire. They're really cheap and as long as you're not doing major up/down you'd probably be alright with them. Definitely worth looking in.

only problem with clearwire is your sucked into a contract, the portability is nice though especially if they have a usb modem

If you're concerned about decent speed, don't bother with ClearWire. Last weekend I set up a new router and accidentally connected to a neighbor's router (thinking it was my new un-configured one). I thought there was something wrong with my connection it was so slow . . . painful slow.

I had Harbornet for a number of years. Now, I have NetVenture, which seems to have better service, longer service hours, and happier employees, some of whom left the first to work at the other. No experience with Advanced Stream (except for delivering their mail).

Not that it's directly relevant to their service, but I know someone who is about to reach a settlement with Clearwire over a sexual harassment suit (fired her for not being yound and pretty enough).

And, if it matters to you, Comcast is run by bad people, who are virulently against net neutrality. Personally, I don't like, when I can avoid it, to reward bad behavior.

Which raised the separate question: are there any cell phone companies that aren't just as bad when it comes to spying and ripping people off?

Take your pick.
