Security and Password Pop-up (Bug?)
on 7/14/2009 @ 9:12pm
|Is anyone else having this problem?
When I visit FeedTacoma.com (history cleared, not logged in), an orange and white pop-pup menu reads as follows . . .
Security Question & Answer
Sorry to bother you but we're adding the ability for you to have a new password sent in case you forget your old one. Please enter a security question and answer below so we know who you say you are when you need a new password.
. . . also, it appears I am logged in as 'S ACCOUNT'
When I refresh the page (and not fill in the information), it goes away and I'm no longer logged in as 'S. This happened at work (Mac computer) and home (PC). Girlfriend had the same thing happen (Mac).
Also: When I DO sign in, I get the following on my 'My Account' page (below the Blog section, above the Shop section):
Warning: Wrong parameter count for mysql_num_rows() in /nfs/c03/h03/mnt/55409/domains/feedtacoma.com/html/account/functions-comics.php on line 21

|oh wow... it's annoying!
If that were an ad, I'd be boycotting FT.

|It sort of comes and goes as I click through various FT pages (pop-up appears, I'm logged in as 'S ACCOUNT) and then click refresh (pop-up disappears, no longer logged in).|

|I was getting that this morning. had to login to make it go away|

It got me, too!
It also wouldn't let me post although it claimed I had posted successfully. Then I had to log in again.
Running the latest version of Chrome on a PC.

|I had it too until I logged in. I don't always like to log in. I would say it's a new bug. (using Firefox)|

|Between the lack of activity on Exit133 and now this nonsense I suspect the local blog sphere is contracting rapidly. Is Tacoma getting too boring to blog about? Stuff is so bad we need to have tech issues so there is some traffic?|

|Crenshaw: I'd be happy to write more about 1033 but I'm fairly certain that nobody cares and I don't feel like sitting in a little room arguing with Fredo until I want to pull all of my teeth out one by one to distract myself from the pain.
Speaking only for myself, I suffer from a little bit of ennui about the whole local blogosphere thing. Let's face it, none of us have any money. Thus, we are not really out covering restaurants and coffee shops and events and this or that opening. And sadly, that is more or less what people want to read or comment on. The rest just feels like talking to myself. There's lots of important news-type stuff going on these days, what with the world more or less pulling apart at the seems just a little, but does anybody care? Or, to be fair, do they want to read about that or are they coming to the blogs as a source of escapism? I have google analytics so I guess I already know the answers to those questions. I don't blame them.
I have had too many diet cokes. And I'm going to be quiet now.

|God I miss the heady days when there were maps of all the condo projects going up and rumors of condo projects yet to be hatched on exit133. Those were the days. I'll even take a fresh Daniel Blue article, now that is desperate. Clearly arguing with fredo about 1033 will only result in excess stomach acid, not recommended. I hope they start doing something with the Elks really soon, if they don't we are in big trouble, blogging wise. I, for one, welcome our Portland overlords. Got to do something. How about exit1033.com, where not only are you heading in the wrong direction but there is no longer a road under you.|

|exit1033.com my gosh that's funny|

|Ok, at least it isn't my imagination that 133 is going round the bowl and headed towards the hole.|
I think that a lot of folks are blogged-out, burned-out, bummed-out, built-out, bananaed-out, burped-out and other such things.
Also, the news is mostly made up of fear mongering ("zomg!!! teh economy iz suxxorz! All your house are belong to us!!! NWO!!!") and propaganda ("rofl! teh housing will com baxxorz, good timez iz here again! Hyperinflationz!").
I'm burned out, and I'm only a mere one on the blog index (0=no computer, 10=Cory Dotcrow).
Methinks we need fresh goings-on.

|Hey gang, sorry for the delay getting to this one -- been a bit of a crazy week. This isn't a new issue but instead something that has happened in the past when I have to block accounts setup by spammers. I'll try and take note to prevent this weirdness from coming back to haunt in the future. In the meantime, should be fixed up.|
Oh, and FeedTacoma is alive and well with blogs, events, discussion, etc. Best part is, no one person has to do it all -- just little bits here and there coming together all in once place. Plus, stay tuned for great new features like the comic section and even some Twitter content... nothing idle here folks. Always trying to move forward so keep that feedback coming!

|It does seem like blog activity has settled down over the past year. Are blogs passe? Are they 2008? If so, what's next? (please don't say FaceBook or Twitter!) And where are the SOTA kids and Tacoma's other youth? Are they totally off-line? There have been some online perspectives clearly lacking, IMO.|
