How about showing the number of clicks in the Top Clicks category? |
by Erik Hanberg on 9/13/2008 @ 4:56pm | Maybe all blogging contributors could get a monthly e-mail of click throughs for their own blog as well as others. It might inform my blogging process to know that the Urbanist gets X number of click throughs to my Y. It also might encourage me to blog more about Tacoma.
Alternatively, maybe feedtacoma contributors could get back-end stats access to see where readers are going and what they're clicking on. It could inform bloggers and might make for a better user experience. Re: top clicks, it always seems like posts at the end of the week are outrank those at the beginning. Are there more users on at the end of the week, or does it have to do when it's counted? |
by KevinFreitas on 9/14/2008 @ 8:49am | I've thought of doing a back-end stats view for contributors so I'll see if I can get that going. Probably won't give out stats on other contributors efforts but maybe I can do a ranking of your blog versus others or something to put it in context.
The top clicks is an average of clicks per day per post. My thought there is that if an older entry were truly more popular than a newer one it's clicks per day would hold up to even something a day old. Guess that may not be the case since those older entries aren't on an even visibility playing field as new ones. Hmm... I could change what constitutes a "top click" or maybe show that list at all times in a sidebar if I expand the design out to 1024. Thanks for your questions/thoughts guys! |
