After a couple weeks of use what kind of feedback do y'all have (visitors and contributors alike) about the i.FeedTacoma.com blogs? They work OK? What kind of features are missing? More cowbell?

I appreciate the comments!

Check on the first two. I still need to look into the OpenSocial API and certainly wouldn't rule out that kind of future feature.

I don't see a way to edit an entry.

Other than that, being able to make your own blog header with an image would be cool.

There has certainly been a lot more action in the chatter department! No more going 5 days with no new comments to read. Yes sir, those days appear to be long gone.

I like the calender feature, but there is no way to add it to a personal calender. It would be nice to link it to a personal calender like Outlook, or Google Calender.

two9seven: are you thinking an export capability from the FT calendar? I'll soon be enabling RSS feeds from the calendar but can also see what formats those other calendars would prefer. We use Apple's iCal here at work and it would be pretty spiffy to see those events there.

Thanks for the feedback!

Kevin,

The blogs are working pretty well and now come into the main feed.

Here's some things that would help.

1) Add the new i.FeedTacoma.com to the list of blogs in the about section on Feed Tacoma.

2) Allow comments to be edited for 15 minutes again like they were. (Hmm. The forum posts are editable but the posts to blogs do not seem to be.)

3) Have some kind of traffic monitor for i.FeedTacoma.com blogs so i.FeedTacoma.com bloggers know if what they are posting is being read at all.

Thanks!

You are democratizing the Tacoma blogosphere. I suspect the number of new bloggers is going to great expand in the near future.

Erik: I don't know if the about section will accept a script, but if it will you can use google analytics. It's just a matter of copying and pasting a little line of code, somewhere where it will appear with every entry. (like the about section.)

Also, you can edit blog posts but you have to go to "x account" then click on "blog." If you click on "Visit your blog" or you just view your blog through the forum you won't see a way to edit.

Thanks. I tried that but it did not seem to work. Also, all I could do would be to add it to a single blog post if it did work.

ok new requests...

- email notifications of blog replies (subscriptions?)
- a version of this? www.meetup.com/ for the events might be cool

The editing function for comments works well Kevin.

Nice work.

I would be amused by people being able to create silly little polls that are open for a few hours. Like the ones on DailyKos, for example. Like "Did you watch the eclipse last night? yes, no, forgot, too busy shooting down spy satellite, etc." That seems like a quick and easy thing to toss together...

Feed Tacoma now works pretty dang well.

Having a graphic for the i web pages might be a good improvement. Also a link from avatars to profiles might help some.

Hmm. Interesting.

I must admit. I'm a poll whore.
