Duh duh dun dun dun dun!

*ahem* Aaaaanyway...

Today is the final Friday of March, and that can mean only one thing: next Friday is the first Friday of April! And if that doesn't mean anything to you, then know this: at the closing of the previous 30 episode Chalk-Off season last October, it was agreed by most that we would commence once more on said Friday, April 3.

So get your art-brains in gear, your fancy saturated chalk purchased, and your lunches brown bagged. The time has come once more: CHALK OFF. The countdown begins.

I so wish someone could setup a webcam! Bummed I'm going to miss out on the first couple of the season. Kinda' miss the chalkie family too -- a truly amazing group that I'm sure will always welcome newbies. Thanks for the post Joe and let's once again take back Frost Park with colorful chalk, people and conversation!

.... I think a webcam could be arranged. Assuming I get my laptop back before next Friday I'll have the full equation:

Laptop + iPhone + tethering (don't tell AT&T) + USTREAM.TV = Frost Park Chalk-Off Webcam!

No promises, but it if the stars align just right, it could happen!

Great post Joe.

Yeah. This year could be alot of fun. A web cam would be great.

And of course, who could forget the mezmorizing music

All of that was before the recession, depression, stock market and job meltdown. More innocent times for sure.

by KevinFreitas on 3/28/2009 @ 3:21am
Will said innocence prevent or beget more artists and art?

I certainly feel that my best piece came post- (or mid-) meltdown. On the same day the same situation inspired a winner from Stowe, and one of his most technically interesting pieces.

Oh HELL yes. I still have a dresser drawer full of chalk I never used up.

It would be cool if people brought laptops and such...anyone with any kind of webcam could easily broadcast on blogtv, ustream or similar sites without having to set up their own feed/site/etc. Assuming there's wireless Internet available at Frost Park in some manner?

Also, this time around, I'm churning videos out more frequently. I aim to be putting more videos on my own channel ( www.youtube.com/adamthealien ), but at least once a week (every Monday and sometimes Fridays) I have to post a video on the Vlogtag 2.0 project I'm part of. ( www.youtube.com/vlogtag )

So count on more frequent and less delayed Frost Park footage from me, this year.

As I did not manage to acquire any drawing skills during the off-season, perhaps I will wander around with a tray of edibles.

Or bring my boombox and my copy of Europe's Greatest Hits (I hear "The Final Countdown" in my brain every time I see this thread).

It's Springtime for the Chalkies.
Can't believe it's back already. I won't be able to attend as often I would like, but I will still follow closely. When you're back, Kevin, if I could get those publications back from you I'd like to do a blog entry on Frost Park and share the rest with Morgan. It will be good to see all of the chalk gang return like sparrows. And find out if in fact all the good ideas have been used. I'd bet not.

Alright peoples! The weather forecast for tomorrow, while crappy in the morning, is predicted to be clear and near 50.

The cookies have been baked and are ready for distribution.

Are you ready?
