American Made Streetcars Now Available

The first American made streetcars in 58 years are now available for sale, thanks to the City of Portland! That's going the extra mile for transit. Now that there's an American made option, maybe it will pave the way for more cities to begin bringing back and developing their own streetcar lines.

Way cool!

Looks almost exactly like the SKODA streetcars (like the bLINK, and downtown Portland). Maybe just rebranded, and assembled in the US using materials from US suppliers? Regardless, that's awesome.

Don't some of the stimulus funds require purchases be domestic? If so, I think these guys may be on to something...

Cities will be clammoring for these when the economy turns around and gas is $6 a gallon.

Seriously. It's a quality manufacturing job that's ahead of the curve. The future is looking very good for streetcars.
