Public funding for streetcars to EQC?

Should the taxpayers pay any portion of streetcars or other rail transit service to link the EQC to Tacoma? And this related issue: Should we allow rail service to be linked to ST even if the Puyallup tribe agrees to pay the complete cost?

I can't imagine any benefit to the city of Tacoma for such an arrangement but I have seen a few postings mentioning it. Why would we want to assist, even encourage, our citizenry to patronize this enterprise?

Last I heard, there hasn't been a preferred alternative brought forward yet? I thought that things are still in the exploratory and planning stages.

If the Puyallups want to pay 100%, then I think that would be great. It expands the system, brings it closer to Federal Way, and then the city can bring Link up one of the hills towards where people live.

I think that the best use of local funds would be to determine the busiest route that Pierce Transit has, and start building the street car system along that route.
