Enjoyable Wiikend

Yea, it's on the brain. It started with our boss wanting a Wii for the office. Sarah and I went to pick it up and decided to get one for ourselves too. From there I mentioned to Brooks while out photographing with the photo group Saturday that we got a Wii and he went and did the same. Then ensie and Frinklin got one Sunday and a co-worker Reena and her husband also picked one up Saturday night.

We should get commission off this stuff, seriously! Anyway, it's a blast of a console. It's impressive what you get for the price and just how fun the games for it can be. Anyone else out there play a Wii yet? Should we have a big FeedTacoma tournament sometime?

Tyler and I are talking about picking one up together to live at the band house.

We have one at the Battlesim Store.

Wii've been counting the minute today until we can play this evening. After my sad start to bowling at your place on Saturday night I scored a 193 on only my 3rd ever game. I am working on going pro in bowling. Fear me.

Dang ensie -- nice game! Guess I'm going to have to practice. Sarah got Big Brain Academy so I can wager how some of her upcoming evenings will be spent.

So much fun! So, seriously, should we have a tourney sometime?

by ensie on 8/20/2007 @ 7:00pm
Absolutely! I'd definitely be down for a tournament. I'd wager we will welcome plenty of non-Wii owners into the fold with such an event.

It's so addicting. I'm working on converting my brother over the phone.

Should be easy to convince him. Point him to this video of our boss and a co-working duking it out.

So much fun!

As long as its not this weekend, a Wii tournament would be quite fun. I vote for Bowling or Chase! (from Wii Play) I need to get a better hang of Boxing and Tennis.

I love playing tennis, but apparently I suck at it (according to the training). Bowling rocks.

Whatever the cow riding is on Wii Play, is that Chase!? I kick ass at that. I would sign up for that anytime. Super fun!

Don't worry Brooks. PAX ( is this weekend - a whole other world of gaming nerdy-ness that Kevin and Sarah will be attending.

Aye, 'tis true. We'll have to think of a time/place for such an event. I've always wanted to have a gaming get together here in town. Hmm...

I think we totally converted another this evening when Steve saw the flickering lights of your TV, Kevin. I knew we had him when he strapped on the wiimote to play tennis.

Totally -- and Mario Party was surprisingly fun stuff! Thanks for bringing it over. It may be wise, however, to get Angela over to play so she's fully into buying one for her and Steve -- knowing how I know wives like to be involved is said decision making. ;)

Sidenote: If you like original Nintendo and you haven't downloaded the latest Nestopia emulator, do yourself a favor... It is fantastic. Hundreds of ROMs the size of Word .doc files can be yours, if the price is right. FREE.

Jason confirms that the Wii does work on our great big LCD projector at the Battlesim store, at South 12th and Junette. We are totally open to hosting a Wii tournament.

Edited to add: This Sunday would be a good time, since the store's closed and there's no airsoft game that day. Either that or any Wednesday, since we are normally closed on Wednesdays.

Oooooh. This could be really, really cool.

by KevinFreitas on 8/22/2007 @ 9:54pm
We're up at PAX this weekend but I'll keep the Wednesday thing in mind and maybe we can chat about it a bit more to figure out what we want to do with this.

by izenmania on 8/23/2007 @ 11:46am
It is done. Wii is purchased. Damn you Kevin!

Haha -- too darn funny. They are a good time, that's for sure.
