Ran down to the park last night and saw the early formation of the Taste taking place. If you have never been, you'll live, but I'd suggest going. Alligator on a stick, finally! Beware - Ruston cops are out in force. Never saw so many...don't think I knew they had that many. Obviously since they can't tax the one gambling operation in town to death, they're going to resort to revenue through the use of force another way - police. It's not for your safety, simply their revenue. So don't give them the chance; take the local route 11 bus or the shuttle, ride a bike, or walk if you can. They also say this year NO DOGS in the food area, for the safety of people and animals. I will make sure to keep tally of how many I see, because as we know having signs posting speed limits and saying no guns allowed makes all the difference, don't it. Happy munching! |

Our family attends the taste every year. My only complaint is that Metro Parks allows the Emerald Queen Casino to sponser the event. The Taste of Tacoma is supposed to be a family event. The Emerald Queen is not about family values, it's anti-family values. Their business is all about prying every last dime out of some bread winner's pocket. If he goes home to his family broke, well, hope he enjoyed the gaming! |

What is up with the ads and logos this year for Tacoma events? First,Tall Ships: They're coming. Are you? Now the Taste with the open mouth and the tongue sticking out. What about putting food next to the mouth? Maybe it's my dirty mind, and that's fine, but subliminal messages and advertising work together, so I find it interesting. |
