Sushi in Tacoma
on 3/26/2007 @ 12:15pm
|A comment on my site about the desire for sushi to fill the old Subway spot in Proctor is forcing me to post my list of preferences for sushi in Tacoma.
Kabuki - best overall
Two Koi - best downtown w/best environment
Metropolitan Market - best for quick (and safe) pick-up
Flying Fish - honorable mention

|Thanks! I have to admit, I haven't been very proactive about finding good sushi in Tacoma. I'll have to check these out.|

|Want good Sushi? Go to Sushi Roll in Federal Way!|

|Where is Flying Fish?
Also, you forgot Gari of Sushi, Sushi Tama and Koji.

|I don't really like sushi. It always tastes like cold rice and seaweed.|

|Where is a good spot for hot dogs?|
by KevinFreitas on 9/11/2011 @ 11:03am
|Wish I could eat sushi anymore but, lo, being allergic to tuna doesn't allow me since even exposure to it in other sushi starts my throat a-closin' up :S This certainly was an old list though (2007) so I'd agree with @Thorax and add Gari of Sushi on there. No need for Federal Way (ever really) we've got plenty of good stuff here.|
@NEDD: Hot dogs? The Red Hot. Period. Accept no substitutes.
by L.S.Erhardt on 9/11/2011 @ 12:37pm
|@ Kfr8: Also Fujia in downtown. They have one of the best sushi lunch deals you're going to find.|
Hot Rod Dog in downtown if you don't care to or are unable to get up on 6h ave.

|What about tacos?|
by KevinFreitas on 9/11/2011 @ 8:15pm
|Not much of a taco eater but I'm a huge fan of Los Tres Hermanos on 12th and Pine for their carne asada burritos!|
by L.S.Erhardt on 9/11/2011 @ 11:36pm
|Dude, it's all about the taco truck on 6th ave or La Fondita on 38th & G.|
by KevinFreitas on 9/11/2011 @ 11:40pm
|Wait, there's another La Fondita? I love the one that's in Proctor!
by thriceallamerican on 9/12/2011 @ 9:52am
|I don't know if the La Fondita truck is associated with the Proctor restaurant, but doubt it is. The truck's food is amazing, waaay better than Los Tres Hermanos (my walk-to taco joint).|
by thriceallamerican on 9/12/2011 @ 9:53am
|Also: amusing thread hijacking. Let's just keep tossing out different categories of food!|
by KevinFreitas on 9/12/2011 @ 9:56am
|I'll have to try the other La Fondita then, awesome!|
Hmm, BBQ, not nearly as versed in this since I mostly just partake in Stowe's Meaties. Love to hear with others recommend though!
by thriceallamerican on 9/12/2011 @ 10:07am
|(I was mostly kidding. About the BBQ, at least. Tacos are no joke!)|
by Rick Jones on 9/12/2011 @ 11:55am
|Best sushi? Akasaka - -31246 Pac Hwy S in Fed Wy.
Next - Two Koi.
I agree with Kevin regarding Metropolitan. If you want to pick up and eat at home, that's the place to go. They will even make it fresh upon request.
Hot dogs? No doubt - The Red Hot on Sixth.
by low bar on 9/12/2011 @ 7:03pm
|Yeah the Red Hot will get you there. But fuck if the times I ate there I got totally harshed by the loud jerk off staff. Just don't fucking claim to be a non-jerk zone when you've got blow hard jerks running their mouths behind the fucking bar is all. The blond curly waiter dude was way chill though. It's the fat grease monkey rockabilly poser in there making all the fucking useless volume. ITS NOT YOUR FUCKING PERSONAL CLUB HOUSE ASSHOLE|

|What about pizza?|
by KevinFreitas on 9/12/2011 @ 8:41pm
|Hmm, pizza: Overall best selection of tasty pies I'd go with Puget Sound Pizza. My favorite pizza in town goes to the Taproom's namesake pizze the Taproom. Fantastic!
by NorthEndDinerDude! on 9/12/2011 @ 8:51pm
|Kevin! Why did you change your pic?|
