Nick 'n Willy's opening Sun, 9/16
|
by KevinFreitas on 9/15/2007 @ 5:24pm |
Just talked to the folks over at the new home of Nick-n-Willy's in Proctor. Even though their grand opening is next Saturday it sounds like they'll at least be open tomorrow. They said 11am but grabbed my attention tonight since the place looked packed. Guess it was a test run for friends and family only.

by KevinFreitas on 9/15/2007 @ 11:40pm | Looked pretty lively in there tonight even given that it was only friends and family of the staff night. |
by AP on 9/17/2007 @ 9:28am | Starbucks employees tipped me off Sunday morning that they may be doing pizza by the slice... Proctor pizza pleasure party could finally be here! Anyone able to confirm or deny this lofty allegation?
P.S. Sign says they are offering 2 pepperoni pizzas for $7.99 for a limited time - if they aren't offering slices, this is still a great way to sample N&W on the cheap. P.P.S. Flash mob! Flash mob! Flash mob! |
by KevinFreitas on 9/17/2007 @ 9:47am | Nice AP. They're "official" opening is this weekend. Perhaps a Saturday lunch meet-up?
P.S. - I've heard they'll be doing by the slice as well. Can't wait to have that option available so near and on the way home. |
by Erik on 9/17/2007 @ 8:42pm | I walked by there tonight. They are now open for business. Come and get it. Yes, Nick 'n Willy's will have Pizza by the Slice soon. They have a acquired a warmer oven that we tried to give to PSP from Ebay but with no avail. |
by KevinFreitas on 9/17/2007 @ 9:27pm | So, who's going to have the first taste? Has anyone already stopped by? |
by AP on 9/18/2007 @ 9:33pm | I planned to go tonight but my girlfriend had to work late and our plans changed. Hopefully tomorrow night.. I have clamored long and loud for pizza by the slice in the Proctor District. It's time for me to put my money where my mouth has been. |
by AP on 9/19/2007 @ 5:44pm | NO SLICES YET. I REPEAT: NO SLICES YET. Let's hope "yet" is indeed the operative word. I'm going for a whole pie. Stay tuned... |
by Erik on 9/19/2007 @ 7:51pm | They have small personal pan pizzas. Yet, no pizza by the slice even though they have the oven for it.
Hmmm. |
by AP on 9/24/2007 @ 8:58am | Anyone else got a report on these guys? I'm witholding the meat & potatoes of my incident out of respect for them being brand new.. unfortunately a friend gave me a detailed account of her experience at Nick -n- Willy's yesterday, and it was as bad as what happened to me last week. The pizza is good, if it's baked long enough, but the place is a trainwreck. I joked with Linda about going in there on Saturday just to watch the debauchery that takes place behind the counter. It would likely be a more enjoyable place to go if I wasn't actually looking for a pizza, especially one with a specific list of toppings I like. |
by KevinFreitas on 9/24/2007 @ 9:01am | We had a late lunch there Saturday and had a good experience. Everything was cooked well and tasted fresh. I'll write a full review once I have a minute. |
by Erik on 9/24/2007 @ 12:54pm | "Everything was cooked well"
Sounds like a raving endorsement. :) |
by KevinFreitas on 9/24/2007 @ 12:59pm | Can't give up the ending before I've even had a chance to tell the story. More tomorrow morning... |
by AP on 9/24/2007 @ 3:34pm | Their list of toppings is fantastic, and their crust (when "cooked well") is dreamy too. I would love for the kinks to be ironed out and for them to succeed. They have until Wednesday night to get things in order for my next visit. I don't do bad service at the same place more than twice. |
