So, the Tacomic will soon be one year old and Mr. RR and I would like to hear from you, the community what we might do for this milestone Tacomic? We're up to hear topic ideas or, heck, even a suggestion for whether or not we should have us a party for the occasion.

A big art show party Helm style. RR could bring a few of his vaccum cleaner trophies.
Perhaps at the Helm itself.
Art, wine and maybe beer.
Of course, RR could bring his various Tacomics. He had suggested selling a bound volume of them. A years worth.
This is also a chance for everyone to pick (and buy) the Tacomic of themselves. Scott Fontaine will need to buy his as well. Todd already has purchased his.
(I can only hope that the art list serv will allow the show to be announced.) |

by izenmania on 1/31/2008 @ 1:34pm | I think that the anniversary Tacomic should lampoon itself. Self-mockery! RR goes under the blade of his own artistic wit!
Or perhaps a contest wherein readers submit their own Tacomic ideas (possibly still with RR as the primary subject). |

by NineInchNachos on 1/31/2008 @ 2:32pm | I'm not cool enough for the helm. I'm more freight house square right now. |

by intacoma on 1/31/2008 @ 2:38pm | how about readers submit sketches and he has to make something out of them, sorta like that game where you have a shape and the other person completes it |

by KevinFreitas on 1/31/2008 @ 2:39pm | I'd suggest St. Helens but, well, you know. Maybe we could have an unauthorized part at the old Winfield's/David's? Too bad that Eagles lodge isn't around. ;) |

Dont' worry. The Helm could use the event. Plus, it is in the perfect location and people are used to going there. Mineral went out of business.

A self portrait Tacomic is a good idea. |

by NineInchNachos on 1/31/2008 @ 3:28pm | Mineral is doing quite well over in it's new location at ice box contemporary. I even spotted Ms. Kinoshita in Ikea, though we pretended not to see each other (bit of awkwardness after the whole 'enrage the artist community' thing, I assume).
The tacomic could be a kung fu challenge... like readers could submit a diversity of concepts and objects tacoma related that I would then be challenged to incorporate ALL into one cartoon. |

by TacomaGnome on 1/31/2008 @ 4:29pm | Such excitement!!!
What a milestone, I suggest that a multi-frame collectible edition comic in color be in order!
I am so fascinated by the color comics on Sunday, that it would be silly to not try to recreate their amazing lines and brilliance for the humble Tacomic. |

by Erik on 2/2/2008 @ 11:13am | I just talked to one of the curators at The Helm. They want to hold the Tacomic event and are willing to do so for a nominal fee. Perfect place.
Nice.

Yep. An unveiling of a community brainstorming hybrid could bring extraordinary anticipatory excitement to Tacomans. |
