|Gap invites customers to donate clothing and receive 30% off shopping
TACOMA – Gap stores in South Puget Sound and Tacoma Goodwill have announced a partnership encouraging consumers to clean out their closets for a cause. The “Let It Go” campaign comes at a key in which the agency has faced slowing donations from rainy weather.
“A donation of gently used clothes and household items, even one box, can help provide the job training and placement services people need,” said Tacoma Goodwill President & CEO Terry A. Hayes, who noted the campaign couldn’t come at a better time with the agency facing a tremendous need for donations. “We thank the Gap for its participation in Goodwill’s mission.”
The campaign takes place through May 29. Here’s how it works: When consumers donate clothing to participating Gap stores their donations will be given to Goodwill; and, as a “thank you,” donors will receive 30 percent off their entire Gap purchase, including regularly priced and sale items. Coupons are also available when donating to area Goodwill stores and Attended Donation Stations. For a complete list of donation locations, go to www.tacomagoodwill.org.
Gap stores at the Tacoma Mall, 4502 S. Steele St., and in Olympia at the Capital Mall, 242 Capital Mall, are participating in the event. “We are very excited to partner up with Goodwill in this great event supporting our local community,” said Sarah Casto, general manager at Gap in the Tacoma Mall. “Consumers will get a great deal while supporting a great cause.”
Goodwill also provides a “Premier Donations” home pickup service for donations of furniture. For information, contact Leslie Duprie in Donation Services at 253.573.6710. Agency locations with coupons include stores in Tacoma, Olympia, Spanaway and Lacey. Attended donation stations with coupons include Tacoma, Yelm and Hawks Prairie. Goodwill has also added attended donation stations in Kent, University Place and Northeast Tacoma.
