HALT: Mike Lonergan Sign Theif!
an open letter to the skater kids terrorizing my neighborhood
Dear At Risk Youth,
Although you may think it is funny to vandalize my political yard sign, then outright steal it a few days later it's not. In fact it is a CRIME.
Trespassing on my property to remove a political yard sign is not only a crime. It is a crime against democracy.
Sign Bigots (below):

There really is no excuse for this behavior. It is my belief that THE PARENTS of such children are JUST AS MUCH TO BLAME!!!!!
Mike Lonergran is Everyone's FIRST choice for Pierce County Executive (that is if you don't count the Republican Party's first choice which happened to be Shawn Bunney, a decent American)!
How much is political sign thieving costing tacoma and pierce county??
Teenagers are growing up without respect for the law.
I have my suspicions...
- not being breast-fed
- lack of access to 12hr kindergarten labor camps
- dilution of WASL standards
- gangs/baggy pants
- skateboarding
- 'BMX' style bicycles
- sexual imagery on beverage advertisements in the schools
- Semaj Booker & derogatory Rap Music
In summary:
I really hope god kills you for your transgression.

![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/4/2008 @ 9:10am | Whenever I'm troubled about a social problem I make a cup of hot green tea, and go into my portable glass pyramid and sit in a lotus position and chant a low volume mantra: "What would the Volcano do? What would the Volcano do? What would the Vocano do?"
Then after that I do some push-ups, microwave a couple of hotdogs, put on some jeans, a flannel shirt and hiking boots, grab my baseball bat and a 40oz. PBR and head out into the neighborhood on foot looking for suspicious teens. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/4/2008 @ 9:32am | thanks for your support my friends.
a final message to the teens who know not what they do... if you return my mike lonergan sign to my yard, I will not ask any questions and instead be most greatful |
by jane on 8/4/2008 @ 10:23am | Wait! Have you considered the possibility that the teens wanted the sign so they can show their support for Mike? |
by izenmania on 8/4/2008 @ 10:32am | Perhaps they have simply recognized your artistic excellence.
"My," they may have said to their friends, "I could certainly never construct quite so classy a mustache. And despite my best efforts, I have never achieved such a believe tooth-blanking. I must have it!" CONCLUSION: Practiced artistic achievement leads to LAWLESSNESS and CORRUPTION OF THE YOUTH. You should be ashamed, good sir. Or proud of yourself, I'm not sure. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/4/2008 @ 10:49am | ![]() firstly I believe they drew the mustache on mike lonergan to embarrass me into taking down my sign. however, It had the opposite effect on me. I was proud to display the weathered sign.. ala "Bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night That our flag was still there." symbolism. Discouraged by my unwillingness to be terrorized, I believe the teens removed the sign as the final 'nuclear' option to dissuade my Mike Lonergan patriotism. Why do they hate Mike Lonergan so much? Are these teens RACIST? Perhaps they are uncomfortable with Mr. Lonergans inter-racial marriage? If so, shame on you kids. ![]() People who love each other have a GOD GIVEN RIGHT to be together. These lawless communists clearly have no respect for freedom of expression or decocracy, you'll have to fight fire with fire. May I suggest taking a page out of the book of third-world dictatorship politics and assembling a group of civic-minded individuals and forming a street-team in support of Mr. Lonergan. Follow the mofo's example and encourage all members of this street-team to bring their own 40oz. PBR and aluminum baseball bat. Then canvas the city in search delinquent-looking youth or anyone you suspect may not have been breast fed or might be a republican sympathizer. Then simply do your best to encourage these individuals to sympathize with your political agenda as best a group of intoxicated thugs with aluminum baseball bats can. Democracy is not a natural consequence civilized humanity, it is a privilege that must be ENFORCED by the one's who care enough to ensure that everyone makes a choice, and that each one of those choices is the RIGHT choice. Nietzsche contrasts the Übermensch with the Last Man, who appears as an exaggerated version of the degraded "goal" that unified the liberal democratic, bourgeois, socialist, and communist social and political programs.[33] The plural Übermenschen never appears in Nietzsche's writings, which sharply contrasts with Nazi interpretations of his corpus. Michael Tanner suggests Übermensch means the man who lives above and beyond pleasure and suffering, treating both circumstances equally "because joy and suffering are ... inseparable."[34] Stangroom regards the Übermensch as likely Nietzsche's most controversial and most misunderstood concept. |

![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/6/2008 @ 7:23am | marumaruyopparai, you answered your own question about racism, "there are plenty of racist bigots who don't know the first thing about evolutionary theory"---EVOLUTION IS A THEORY. It is NOT A FACT. No one has ever witnessed an evolutionary CHANGE IN KIND of species. There are no such events in Evolutionary theory that can be proved. The theory is uprovable. However, the theory does appeal to certain groups of people with an agenda. The theory does seem to offer a natural science foundation to justify or account for human behavior. Racism? Think of it this way: If a theory states that one hypothetical ethnic type is superior to another than such a "belief" can inspire and lead men to engineer a master race, an Aryan nation, A Third Reich.
Given all that, including all the subsequent horrific mutilations of human bodies by Nazi scientists, today there are people that are volunteering for sex change operations and various other mutilations. How can such mutilations today in 2008 be acceptable by a so-called scientifically enlighted society? All throughout history a whole lot of people have been duped by vocal minorities with an agenda. There are only two worldviews or interpretations of reality: Revelation and speculation. Each worldview or interpretation of reality has vastly different consequences. That's a fact whether one understands the principles of the worldview or not. |
by NineInchNachos on 8/6/2008 @ 7:49am | Evolution is just a theory the same way the Gravity is just a theory. However, the theory of gravity does appeal to certain groups of people with an agenda.
same thing with photosynthesis. Nobody can prove the theory of photosynthesis. Wake up mofo! Even the pope believes in the theory of evolution. Carl Sagan says we are all made of stardust. The greeks claimed that we were made of animated clay to be the play things of the gods. Hokey superstition is no match for a good blaster at your side. AGREE as stated. With the following clarification: Belief in a supernatural or meta(after)physical self-existent triune being (not multiple gods with limited powers; not god as an impersonal mysterious energy). RATIONAL (2) Belief in natural (gravity, thermodynamics, chemistry): Rational AGREE as stated. With the following clarification: Natural laws are observable and discernable because the universe is rational (to a rational mind). If the universe started by chance and manifested its existence as chaos, then rational laws of nature could not be discerned. However, the manifest laws of nature, like all scientific theories, are subject to revision. The self-existent eternal being is. As a notable Ancient Greek philosopher once said: "Whatever is, is." The self-existent eternal being is not subject to revision. The application of this knowledge for use by an evil or arrogant man could result in cosmic horror. In other words, it would be arrogant or boastful for a man to say that everything is in control, there's no need for God, everthing is figured out. Man doesn't know what tomorrow holds. A repentant sinner may return your sign by Friday. |

by marumaruyopparai on 8/6/2008 @ 9:50pm | Mofo, RR, I think you should each a take a deep breath and then pat yourselves on the back, that was some damn fine philosophizing. I would love to make a contribution here myself, but I'm so exhausted from wading through this thread that I have nothing left. I will mention however that creationism, much like the evolutionary theory, is also embraced by large unified groups with an agenda because it is consistent with the belief system upon which that agenda is based. Members of the Christian faith for example. I see no real problem with that, there's plenty of room in the universe, however it came to be, for both evolutionists and creationists. And I'm willing to embrace both my creationist and evolutionist brothers and sisters if they're willing to accept me and my beliefs for what they are, regardless of whether they conflict with those of others.
Also, in my opinion, when you get to the heart of the debate concerning this supposed self-existent creator of the universe I feel like it devolves into a chicken or egg debate. Q:Why does god have to exist? A: Because an ordered logical universe exists. Thus it must have been created by a logical being. If an ordered, logical universe requires a logical creator, why shouldn't an ordered, logical creator require an ordered, logical creator? Is proof of God proof of God's God and that God's God ad infinitum? Also, all references to Nazi's here were satirical, and not meant to be taken seriously, even more frightening than the Specter of Brown Shirts is that of racism. RR, I feel your yard sign couldn't be more controversial now had it said "Hooray for 9/11, down with infidels!" |
by marumaruyopparai on 8/6/2008 @ 9:56pm | And hooray for the Flying Spaghetti Monster! I see you quoted Han Solo up there as well, couldn't let that slip past without acknowledgement, thanks for bringing him into the debate. |

![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/6/2008 @ 11:59pm | (1) "yet to discriminate in the diversity of gods in favor of any one particular god is a form of mythological racism."
For some people, monotheism is an enduring problem, both culturally and politically. Most opposition comes from basically two separate religions which claim to be tolerant: the defenders of society who are content that many gods should be worshipped; and the defenders of a wholly secular society. The problem with monotheism to these two groups is that it competes with and deprives social institutions and symbols of power of their cultic and sacred aura. The God of the Bible calls on man to rely on His Grace, rather than on human achievement. That's why Christians were a problem in 1st century Rome (God before Caesar), and right up to Nazi Germany (God before Hitler), and now, America. Contemporary society has produced a lot of people who work very hard daily to marginalize Jewish and Christian monotheism. The God of the Bible, they say, should be banished from politics, business, education, and any other sphere where other gods, called values, seek to reign. Christian monotheism is founded on reasonable evidence, not blind faith. The evidence supporting Christian monotheism is manifested in the created order of the universe, The Bible including its fulfilled prophesies, Jesus Christ in human history, and through the conscience of the mind. Like it or not, Jewish and Christian monotheism cannot be eliminated by irrational minorities, by those who try to settle arguments based on what they want the truth to be. (2) "did monotheism evolve from polytheism? (3) If everybody believes that their god is the one true god, couldn't a rational being looking at the big picture conclude that all those gods are equally false?" Monotheism did not evolve from polytheism. The origin and character of Jewish and Christian monotheism is revealed in The Bible. Regarding question 3, all known gods could be false. Only one god, a good and all powerful deity, could be true. In the words of Socrates, "Follow the evidence to where it leads." |
by marumaruyopparai on 8/7/2008 @ 12:01am | Hence the term 'self-existent,' I get it, but those are all just fancy words to make the idea self-actuating, it doesn't make it so, just an idea. Not saying your wrong, I am an agnostic, I believe that no human mind is capable of proving the existence of this self-existent being no matter how much philosophical deduction takes place. All we have is our perception and to borrow your earlier quote "whatever is, is," regardless of our perception of it. |
![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/7/2008 @ 12:16am | Whatever God chose not reveal about himself and the universe is none of our business. |
by marumaruyopparai on 8/7/2008 @ 12:46am | "Christian monotheism is founded on reasonable evidence, not blind faith. The evidence supporting Christian monotheism is manifested in the created order of the universe, The Bible including its fulfilled prophesies, Jesus Christ in human history, and through the conscience of the mind." - Mofo from the Hood
You cite "created" order as evidence of the monotheistic God, but this in and of itself is no kind of evidence at all, it's an assumption. I will acknowledge "existent" order, because I've witnessed predictable order in the natural phenomena that surround me. However, I have yet to see a creator, or evidence (beyond "existent" order) of a creator, thus I am not willing to just hop on board the "created" order train and call that proof of God. The comment concerning irrational minorities in this discussion is unnecessary here, I have read nothing irrational on either side of the discussion, only two different perspectives. And what someone "wants" the truth to be is irrelevent, this is an exchange of ideas based on differing perspectives. But if faith IS simply based upon what one 'wants' the truth to be, then you too seem to be shaping reality the way you want it, not necessarily the way it actually is. To discount someones elses ideas as irrational simply because they conflict with your own is in itself irrational. Nothing is proven through use of terms such as 'self-existent,' 'created order' or through reference to Jesus, who's place in human history does nothing to prove the existence of God either. In this day and age when someone wanders the streets claiming to be the progeny of God they're dismissed as insane. Also, fulfillment of biblical prophecy (which is murky subjective water), would only prove that those who wrote the parable had outstanding insight into the future, like Nostradamus. But Nostramus's amazing ability to see ahead into the future seems no more proof of God than accurate bilblical prophecy imho. |
by AP on 8/7/2008 @ 10:20am | The good thing is that nobody here is right or wrong. The only existential injustice would be assuming that we "know" anything. If we were meant to know, there would be more clues. Several billion people have failed to prove anything over time. Nuff said. We now resume our respective belief systems already in progress. |
![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/7/2008 @ 10:29am | I've explained what is and what is not rational. I said irrational minorities are those that try to settle arguments on what they want the truth to be (What makes them feel good; as opposed to what is the truth of the evidence.). All along I've said follow the evidence (experimental data, records, public experience) to where it leads.
Beyond that, what kind of explanation or evidence would you trust? |
by AP on 8/7/2008 @ 10:47am | You say, "follow the evidence." I say, "there is none." |
![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/7/2008 @ 11:12am | Thanks AP. I'm sure you've heard of the Biblical three wise men who travelled to see the newborn baby Jesus. The thing that made them wise was that they sought wisdom. Here in Tacoma, if you go over to Lincoln High School you will read on the cornerstone placed near the main entrance, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom..." Proverbs 4:7. |

by Mofo from the Hood on 8/7/2008 @ 10:29am "I've explained what is and what is not rational." That statement is presumptuous in that you have some supreme power to determine what is rational and what is not rational. You argue that this is based on the "truth of the evidence" - again, how do you know that what you have defined as "evidence" and therefore "truth" is not just your personal opinion? |

I've been distraught, pondering this all day. I don't know who to believe anymore, so I'm going to my local auto dealership and buying a hybrid car, then I'm going to buy an eye-patch, a rapier, and I'm going to raise a skull-and-crossbones flag from the aerial of my hybrid. ![]() by Mofo from the Hood on 8/7/2008 @ 11:20pm | I think we got cargo cults right here in Tacoma. The leaders are commonly called pimps. These pimps have observed over time how men will present to women, be they girlfriends or wives, such gifts as money and jewelry and clothes and cars. So the pimps, seein' all this have figured out a way, or ritual if you like, to attract similar men of material means by using psuedo girlfriends and pseudo wives. Furthermore, I've even heard that the pimps use cargo cult language to describe their psuedo sacrifices. Phrases like: She got a little junk in the trunk; and Cutey with a booty (Boot is the British equivalent for trunk.). Thing about these cult members is that they're kind of hard to spot at first. I mean it's not like they got a yard sign hangin' around their neck. |
