by AngelaJossy on 10/6/2008 @ 11:59am | By the way, Stadium Video has the movie. I didn't get it there because we live in a far off and Stadium Video deprived land called Lakewood. |

by dawntown on 10/6/2008 @ 12:11pm | Ill definitely check it out! |

by fredo on 10/6/2008 @ 1:30pm | The movie Recount has a sort of left leaning position. I wonder if the producers would consider a similar film about the questionable result in the Gregoire/Rossi race of 4 years ago? Doubtful. |

by chrism39 on 10/6/2008 @ 7:07pm | Oh left leaning left shmeaning. They stole the election. Even if they didn't steal the election, Gore won the popular vote which sheds light on the fact that the electoral college has some serious flaws. |

by chrism39 on 10/6/2008 @ 7:08pm | In addition, no one outside the state of washington gives a rats ass about Rossi/Gregoire. |

by NineInchNachos on 10/6/2008 @ 7:27pm | If you like HOV lanes don't vote for Rossi.
if you like HOV lanes don't vote for the eyman tomfoolery.
Let my buses glide free of obstruction!
DEATH-- er... DOWN WITH ROSSI, DOWN WITH EYMAN! |

by jane on 10/6/2008 @ 8:40pm | I propose a new adjective: Eymanized.
Parks closed due to lack of funds? They've been eymanized!
Don't like having to supply you kid's teacher with dry erase pens? The class room has been eymenized. |

by fredo on 10/7/2008 @ 8:08am | Chris@ One of the most influential documentaries of all time focused on problems in the State of Michigan. The title of the documentary is Roger & Me. A similarly well-made documentary about the Rossi/Gregoire election would attract a huge audience both local and national. Voters who want fair and honest elections do care about the way votes are tabulated in Washington state as well as in Florida.
On the subject of Eyman: Tim Eyman is a popular whipping boy for the left. Those people who oppose his initiatives should do a better job organizing an opposition or sponser their own initiatives. The main reason in my opinion that there's no money for park repairs or school supplies is that municipal labor unions have vacuumed up all available funding. |

by Keeper on 10/7/2008 @ 9:56am | I wouldn't go around blaming our current economic crisis on oil prices. I would much more quickly blame it on our own greed. People are buy well beyond their means, and banks, as directed by the legislature from the Carter era, are more than willing to offer money to them with no proof of income.
Bush did not create the current economic crisis. In fact, Republicans tried to mitigate it years ago, but were rebuffed by the Democratic party and sections of their own Republican party. |

by ixia on 10/7/2008 @ 9:57am | Interesting point of view, Fredo. Labor is using up park and school money?
Ever wonder how many dry erase pens we could get for every bomber flying over? How many school rooms we could furbish with the money used for weapons for Iraq, many of which are totally unaccounted for? Ever wonder how much we could save by having the military industrial complex actually bid and compete for wartime projects instead of handing them to cronies?
Value for teachers and education should be priority -because we know what happens when ‘our children is not learning’. We can’t live on moose alone…

by fredo on 10/7/2008 @ 8:19pm | Ixia@ You've properly identified the waste involved in the Iraq conflict, but did you know that waste goes on in the Tacoma School System as well? Perfectly good buildings are torn down long before they wear out because maintenance is not a priority.
You say education should be a priority. Check your property tax statement, I think you'll find this is the case.

by ixia on 10/7/2008 @ 9:04pm | I demand a PRECOUNT! |

by fredo on 10/8/2008 @ 9:13am | Ixia@ I like your "precount" idea. Perhaps we could count the absentee ballots before election day and get some idea how the election is going. Then both parties would know where they need to stash some ballots to be discovered later.
Since this blog is about election videos, perhaps the readers would like another recommendation. Check at your video store for the title "Hacking Democracy" it's a documentary not a docu-drama like "Recount." |
