Back in the saddle, again...
(fall, sweet fall.)
Kid's in school. We've managed to string together two no-tardy-bell days. I've managed to string together two days of exercise.
Now I know that last statement (hell, all of 'em) aren't so impressive, BUT for me, after a summer of ambivalence and laziness-- and a resulting 10 pounds of flesh in the least sightly of places-- it's big news. Especially today, after jacking my back in the gym, yesterday. I could have quite happily sat in bed, feigning pain, (and it wouldn't be feigning, in point of fact) --but no. The man challenged me to a Nike+ duel, to see who could get what kind of mileage by December.
So after getting new kicks, a new nike plus sensor, etc (hoping I don't lose/break this one) and shoring up my resolve, I set off for a quick run around the 'hood.
Typically, I'll go down to Pt D and around a bit, in trails or maybe not; today I decided I wanted to go short and sweet, so I went up and around the Five Views Drive area. It's a gorgeous, sunny, not too hot, not too cold day and my back felt fine. Currently, it still feels fine, and I have plans to do it again tomorrow.
And so, to The Man, I say: Bring. It. On.
