by AngelaJossy on 9/3/2008 @ 8:49am | Aside from the big giant free concert featuring 27 of the best bands in the area, (rock, country blues and acoustic stages), you should also check out the following:
* Desiree Flerchinger, Mary Kay Johnson and Linda Lapping-DeSantis will be painting live during the festival.
* Point Defiance Zoo is setting up a booth where they will be bringing out some animals to show festival goers.
* Carnival Time will bring out several carnival games (like at the fair) and bounce houses for the kiddies.
* Festival goers will be able to paint clay objects and then the F.I.N.E. Mudhens and Clay Art Center will do live raku firing.
* Darrren Selector will DJ outside Point Defiance Casino.

by AngelaJossy on 9/3/2008 @ 12:45pm | What's in it for you, you ask?
Hmmm, well first I will buy you beer (if you are old enough to drink it - otherwise I'll buy you a can of Green River instead).
Second I will help you wash down Frost Park next week. I will scrub scrub scrub until my little fingers bleed. And I'll make my daughter help too so there'll be two of us helping.
Third I will exalt your name to the skies via PA system at the festival and thank you profusely in public.
Fourth I will name my next pet after you (I'm not having any more children, the first one's costing me a fortune).
Fifth, I will arrange another music concert for you at Frost Park by one of my super talented musical peers.
Is that enough incentive? |

by scout on 9/3/2008 @ 12:52pm | Angela:
You are introducing a great idea for Frost Park chalkies - employed by artists over the centuries (or something like that) - the idea of trading their talent for services, other artwork etc. Great idea!
Perhaps the idea could evolve into something for future winners of the competition too. |

by AngelaJossy on 9/3/2008 @ 4:32pm | Also worth mentioning, a film crew will be at the festival filming for a documentary called "Inside The Indie." Your chalk art would be in a movie!

by kathy on 9/3/2008 @ 10:38pm | I'll bet I can talk my daughter into taking on a chalk drawing with me...I believe she worked wth your daughter down at Frost a couple weeks ago...TSOTA kid?
We'll certainly be down at the festival in any event.
Nice work Angela!!! We are looking forward to it!!
I think we might owe YOU a beer! |

Thanks Angela for bring some considerable goods to the table. Having a beer with Angela Jossy is almost incentive enough in itself. |

by izenmania on 9/4/2008 @ 8:04am | Question: if multiple people help out, will you name your next pet after all of them? Or will you get enough pets to name one after each? |

by AngelaJossy on 9/4/2008 @ 1:48pm | Interesting question, I suppose I could buy a school of fish and give each one of them a chalk-star name. I hope my problem is too many names! That would be awesome.
Anyone interested should report to the parking lot outside Totem Yacht Club in Ruston Friday night at 7 pm. This is where the load-in party begins. Voxxy Vallejo may grace us with a few Joplin inspired numbers. Beverages will be available.

by AngelaJossy on 9/4/2008 @ 1:50pm | However! I do need some RSVP action so I know if I should invest in chalk and what sort of chalk is preferred. |

by AngelaJossy on 9/4/2008 @ 10:17pm | I was at Fred Meyer tonight and I bought a tub of crayola chalk but I'm thinking I need to buy some of the good stuff from Tacoma Art Supply and maybe some cowboy?
I'm still not sure who's coming but in my head I have some Life of Elle style magic dancing around in my imagination with some Dawntown/Stowe/RR lettering around it.
Also, I might be getting some big ole chalk boards from a closed school for you guys to play with. They are heavy though and I'll need some help moving them.

by kathy on 9/4/2008 @ 10:34pm | Hi Angela...
Katie is out for Friday night (club Adrian committment) but we will see ya fer sure on Saturday!
Can we chalk some then? Maybe early-ish? |

by AngelaJossy on 9/4/2008 @ 10:36pm | Sure! We're closing down the street at 7 am so any time after that is fair game.
