Now in your mailbox...8 page Pierce Transit brochure urging a yes vote on Prop. 1...paid for by the taxpayers

I got the brochure in my mailbox today, actually I got 2 copies. I guess Pierce Transit has so much money to blow they can send multiple brochures to every address. The brochure goes to great lengths to paint a draconian future we will suffer if the Prop. 1 doesn't pass. But not one inch of space is given to Prop. 1 opponents. The narrative completely glosses over any problems the sales tax increase might cause. This is all paid for by... the taxpayers.

Sorry to burst the Fredopian bubble, but they aren't required to give any space to the opposition.

It's akin to a presidential candidate (or senatorial or gubernatorial one) giving space on their own ad to the opponent.

If you are going to roast PT for not giving space to the Prop 1 opposition, then you need to roast the opposition for not giving up some pro-prop 1 space as well.

GOD, man. You are remarkably inconsistent in your criticism.

" If you are going to roast PT for not giving space to the Prop 1 opposition, then you need to roast the opposition for not giving up some pro-prop 1 space as well."

Sober up NS, the opponents ads aren't paid for by the government. Why should they required to present both sides? God man, You are remarkably inconsistent in your criticism.

One thing Fredo is consistent on: inconsistency.

Sign of a mental disorder maybe?

Even GOV workers who printed up the brochures were income taxed.

Think about it.

At least the GOV isn't threatening to fire everyone if the opposition wins.

I provided an argument low bar. You didn't refute it, you just provided your usual bull shit.

Can you see my refute?

Go to your primary care provider Fredo and get a referral to a mental health professional. PLEASE

You didn't refute anything I posted. You just went off on one of your usual tangents.

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 6:09pm
Even GOV workers who printed up the brochures were income taxed.

Which means that everyone's taxes were used in your argument.

But are you saying that it costs nothing to ride the bus?

Bc if PT used bus fair to pay for the brochures what then?

Get some smart pills or something.

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 6:12pm
What about all the advertising on the side of buses?

Did that pay for the brochures?

If you are not intelligent enough to argue Fredo, you shouldn't.

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 6:31pm
Why don't we ever argue here about topics that really matter?

Like trying to get operating costs down by getting ALL of PT on LPG?

Then you can pretty much get rid of the GOV subsidy.

And that's why I'll be Governor of WA one day.

BC is see WA energy being dependent on the f'n Arabs and as Governor I will get WA 100% off of Arab oil.

But the only way I can do that is by working with people in Eastern WA to set up wind farms and working with other Governors in Montana and North Dakota to set up wind farms in their states as well.

Then all that energy will power the NW and Alaska.

Then we see about getting ALL public transport on LPG.

Then we can see about getting ALL state and city vehicles on LPG.

Now if the GOP tries to block me, then yes none of that will get done.

And that is the problem we are having in Congress.

GOP is keeping America from the American dream.

GOP is trying to bankrupt America so they can sell it off.

Can you believe that?

Everything our founding fathers risked their lives and sacred honor for is being destroyed by a hand full of Republicans.

It's unconscionable.

The mailer was paid for 70% by sales tax revenues, the rest was advertisements, grants and farebox. The content of the brochure should have been NEUTRAL in tone. It's not meant to be a campaign brochure but rather an informational brochure. But the information is carefully designed to provide only one choice and that is yes on Prop. 1.

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 7:00pm
See but you make it out to be 100% sales tax revenues in your tone initially.

Which is OK bc sales taxes means that the tax was ONLY collected from USE.

How is it Fredo, that you can wrongfully accuse the brochure of being lopsided when YOU YOURSELF present your argument with lopsided evidence?

Proceed Fredo.

by cisserosmiley on 10/17/2012 @ 7:01pm
We got 2 also. The "leaner" campaigns do better at efficiently weeding out doubles. What do you expect with all the pee fumes. VOTE YES because people need busses and buss related jobs.

by fredo on 10/17/2012 @ 7:15pm
When I make an error in an argument, as you claim low bar, it doesn't cost anybody anything.

When PT makes an error it costs the taxpayers thousands or millions of dollars.

Do you understand the difference numbskull?

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 7:16pm
Oh how Fredo loves to gloss over stuff. And then accuse a brochure of glossing over stuff.

Hypocrisy? or Mental illness?

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 7:18pm
I know the difference between a hypocrite Fredo.

And you fredo are a level 9000 hypocrite.

Sales tax fredo. Only if you use crap. Not income tax.

by low bar on 10/17/2012 @ 7:19pm
When you make an error Fredo and vote no on Prop 1

Its does cost.

It costs the working poor their only means of transportation.

But you don't care about them. Because you are a selfish hypocrite.

I got two too
