Don't miss the largest bead show on the West Coast!
The thirteenth annual Puget Sound Bead Festival will be held Fri - Sun July 11th - 13th 2008, and located in the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center at 1500 Broadway in Tacoma, WA. Hours are 10AM to 6 PM Friday, 10AM to 7PM Saturday, and 11AM -5PM on Sunday. $7 admission is good for all three days, group rates available. The festival includes over one hundred bead merchants and artisans from across the country, bringing beads from all around the world. Beads made from glass, clay, semi-precious stones, silver, wood, and polymer. Beads range from hundreds of years old to contemporary one of a kind glass beads made by local artists. The festival also features over one hundred workshops from nationally known instructors on glass bead making, seedbeading, wireworking and contemporary jewelry design. Throughout the weekend, we also feature several special events. There is a Teachers' Showcase Thursday night, where attendees can meet our fabulous instructors and sign up for workshops or buy workshop kits. The Bead Factory on 6th Ave hosts a Beading Night the Saturday night of the show with demos as well as the use of our tool kits and classrooms to work with new beads. During show hours, there will be demonstrations of exciting new beading ideas and techniques given by our festival instructors. An in-show classroom sponsored by the Bead Factory will provide basic technique classes throughout the weekend. |
