![]() Here's the video: (skip ahead of that graphic a bit, I'll post an edited version after I have a chance to come up for air) |
by izenmania on 3/26/2008 @ 9:43am | Ooh, a mystery! *impatiently awaits resolution* |
by intacoma on 3/26/2008 @ 10:15am | |
by KevinFreitas on 3/26/2008 @ 10:19am | Wrong kind of finger. Very much wrong. |
by zastica on 3/26/2008 @ 10:27am | Haha. |
by intacoma on 3/26/2008 @ 10:41am | Oh so I guess this isn't when we planned on painting some murals
![]() |
by KevinFreitas on 3/26/2008 @ 11:27am | No, still wrong finger. The finger I posted is the finger I meant, a web blogger's faithful, 100%. |
by zastica on 3/26/2008 @ 11:29am | wtf sparkles? |
by NineInchNachos on 3/26/2008 @ 3:14pm | is this like a new column? like the TNT's The Nose? We'll have The Finger? |
by zastica on 3/26/2008 @ 3:58pm | Nose, meet Finger. |
by izenmania on 3/26/2008 @ 5:06pm | Every week we can examine The Nose's column... pick it apart, if you will. |
by ensie on 3/26/2008 @ 5:12pm | Groan. |
by NineInchNachos on 3/26/2008 @ 5:46pm | Even so, I for one enjoy In-tacoma's mini-graphics.
I applaud everything he has done so far... graffiti whitewashing, chef pete?, sparkles etc. Excelsior! |
by Nick on 3/26/2008 @ 11:19pm | "Nose, meet Finger."
hahahahahahahahaha! ewwwww |

by ixia on 3/27/2008 @ 10:25am | HAHA
Good one, Kevin.I can't wait till Monday either! |
by morgan on 3/27/2008 @ 2:21pm | Is this going to be another excuse to meet up at Frost Park? That is my lunch time you know. That is PM and not AM, right? |
by morgan on 3/30/2008 @ 10:08pm | Oh... gotcha. |
by KevinFreitas on 3/31/2008 @ 6:42am | Haha, no Frost Park anything here Morgan. Besides, giving folks down there the finger would probably be contrary to the positive activity we're trying to bring to the place.
Noon:30 today everyone! Come back to this forum to learn what this is all about. |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 9:35am | The birth of the Feed Tacoma internet talk radio station live from downtown Tacoma? |
by KevinFreitas on 3/31/2008 @ 9:46am | Just because I have a cute mic/recorder thiny doesn't mean I want people to hear my voice. I've heard you have a pretty good voice for things like that tho Erik. Makes me think of a bus tour guide. ;) I'll lend my mic if you want to start your own podcast. |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 9:53am | Just because I have a cute mic/recorder thiny doesn't mean I want people to hear my voice. Hmmm. The suspense is growing. |
by thriceallamerican on 3/31/2008 @ 10:00am | My prediction: methinks we're going to be able to somehow rate or recommend entries on the Feed. Just to throw that out there so that if I'm right, I can say "told you so" later... :-) |
by jenyum on 3/31/2008 @ 10:50am | thrice: I fell out of love with that feature pretty quickly on tacomamama. Now I force people to 'splain themselves and I get a lot fewer rating submissions, but there were just way too many drive by 1s and 2s and I didn't like that. Sometimes they made sense and sometimes I really have no idea what was driving it. Did they not like the place? Not like the post? Having a bad day? Just clicking? I don't know, and the readers and business owners don't know either, it devalued the whole experience. You can still post a rating but now you have to say why, so I'm not sitting there scratching my head looking at a random "2" on a farmers market post from last summer.
Anyway, if that's what it is, maybe there is a larger rating public on the feed and the results will be more meaningful. Or maybe Kevin's got a super-swanky system that will address some of those issues. Or maybe that's not it at all. Maye we just have to wait until 12:30 and find out! See? All that uncertainty, I cannot deal. |
by intacoma on 3/31/2008 @ 11:03am | so excited
I'm guessing iphone version of feedtacoma ha |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 11:26am | Now that Kevin has spent the last few years assembling his blogger army, it uncertain what he will command his forces to do. |
by KevinFreitas on 3/31/2008 @ 11:36am | I fell out of love with that feature pretty quickly on tacomamama. Now I force people to 'splain themselves...
Crap, I hope that's not what I'm announcing 'cause I'd hate to incur the wrath of MecaTacomaMama! ;) T-minus one hour and counting... |
by jenyum on 3/31/2008 @ 11:59am | Heh. Mecatacomamama would never stomp the feed :)
It's all good, whatever it is I'm sure it will be awesome. |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 12:12pm | T-minus one hour and counting... I think I know what Kevin is attempting. I won't spill it. I can only hope that Kevin has made his calculations correctly and is aware of the bandwidth limits. Its not entirely clear that the entire Tacoma blogosphere can connect to Feed Tacoma at the same time and receive a high speed "feed" without melting down a few switching stations in downtown. We will see. |
by ensie on 3/31/2008 @ 12:22pm | I know the secret and I'm sure it's possible. |
by Frinklin on 3/31/2008 @ 12:29pm | Heh, melting down a few substations would be a nice way to show the burgeoning power of the Tacomasphere. |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 12:29pm | It's on. click on the top post. |
by intacoma on 3/31/2008 @ 12:30pm | im here waiting |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 12:36pm | Nice work Kevin and Patricia. Pushing the edge. I think this is it: shops.feedtacoma.com/ |
by intacoma on 3/31/2008 @ 12:36pm | you rock! |
by ensie on 3/31/2008 @ 12:36pm | Great job Kevin!
|
by ixia on 3/31/2008 @ 12:37pm | Wow
Not what I tought it would be. How very awesome, thanks Kevin! |
by ensie on 3/31/2008 @ 12:39pm | So dangerous. Already finding several things I would like to purchase.
|
by jenyum on 3/31/2008 @ 12:40pm | Cool! Can merchants list their existing web-based store as a shop, or do they have to enter items into the system? edited to emphasize: extremely cool. And so awesome of you to set this up. |
by ensie on 3/31/2008 @ 12:42pm | Will you be archiving the webcast for others to view? |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 12:43pm | You can buy cupcakes now online:

![]() by Angela on 3/31/2008 @ 12:47pm | Great job, Kevin! I giggled with glee while sitting at my desk and I'm sure my co-workers now believe I have completely lost it!
I've already found several items of interest. Thanks for setting this up! |
by Nick on 3/31/2008 @ 1:33pm | Genius! Pure genius!
Well done Kevin, I think this is going to become very popular! |
by zastica on 3/31/2008 @ 1:37pm | Awesome. I'll be adding some photography to it. |
by ixia on 3/31/2008 @ 1:48pm | some questions:
what's your preferred max size for the pics? how can we choose a category for our wares? thanks mucho C./ |
by ixia on 3/31/2008 @ 2:06pm | okay, i got the category part.. |
by KevinFreitas on 3/31/2008 @ 2:11pm | Thanks all, I'll be putting the video up after I get some food in my belly.
Mama: Sellers need to list their items in the FeedTacoma Shops. Might work to let them list their shop. Thanks for the suggestion. C./ : (that kinda looks like a DOS prompt) Images will look best coming in at 600 pixels or more -- everything will auto size and compress from there. One of the next steps will also enable multiple item images. Plenty to do but this is an exciting start! |
by Sherry on 3/31/2008 @ 2:42pm | Kevin... I received our first order within a few minutes of launch. Thank you so much for getting this together! I really can see some fantastic things coming from it. What a way to go local in Tacoma! |
by morgan on 3/31/2008 @ 4:08pm | Is there a cupcake delivery service? Or do they use FedEx?
(my guess was a flash mob at the Hub) |
by KevinFreitas on 3/31/2008 @ 4:16pm | Flash bicycle delivery mob? Cool. Don't think there's delivery service for the cupcakes but they can at least have your order ready when you walk in then you can bring it all over to Frost Park Friday for us all to enjoy. :) |
by intacoma on 3/31/2008 @ 4:53pm | Sorry Sherry I didn't mean to order those was just trying out the system, I don't need any mascara right now maybe in the future :) |
by Sherry on 3/31/2008 @ 6:18pm | Are you kidding me intacoma????????? You got the nice thank you email from me??? ummmm if that is the case you owe me a picture metamorphosis lesson !!!!! |
by Erik on 3/31/2008 @ 9:09pm | Thanks all, I'll be putting the video up after I get some food in my belly. Kudos for all of your work on this Kevin. You deserve a civic award for local leadership and technical expertise. Wikipedia type open source structure meets Go Local. |
by NineInchNachos on 3/31/2008 @ 9:26pm | I cant get the video to work. however... Now you can buy surplus TACOMICS ONLINE! |
by izenmania on 3/31/2008 @ 10:09pm | I was just asking Kevin this evening if there would be Tacomics for sale. Glad to see that it's going forward. |
by beerandhotdogs on 4/1/2008 @ 2:23am | You, sir, are a badass.
Go K-Fray! C@TRH |
by Erik on 4/1/2008 @ 9:06am | I can't help but wonder what will be on Feed Tacoma TV next week at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. |
