I just thought the Tacoma blogosphere needed some balance. I'll try to be fair, too.

In case you're wondering, Five Views is a place in Tacoma. Ever hear of it?

I was wondering where Five Views is? Some place with views of lots of mountains or something?

If I'm not mistaken, Five Views is the area highest on the hill west of Pearl, north of Westgate, and south of Point Defiance. Or something like that. Care to elaborate, Mr. RepubByDefault?

Hard to pin down the Tacoma blogosphere on politics. It ranges from the Chamber of Commerce to various alternative blogs.

Other than being pro-technology they are politically all over the place. Similar to Tacoma which is pretty moderate comparatively to the rest of the other counties in the state.

On Tacoma Urbanist, I posted video clips of Obama and Huckabee to be inclusive. Something in there for everyone.

Both are good descriptions. From the highest point, furthest North the view starts at the Narrows bridges, takes in Gig Harbor and the Olympics, around to Vashon and Maury Islands, Des Moines and the Cascades, Browns Point and, of course, Mt. Rainier. I've heard that some houses get can also see the taller buildings in Seattle from their second story.

I picked the name for blogging because it's an almost forgotten part of Tacoma, yet it's beauty can be said to surpass even that of picturesque downtown. I think the rest of the city needs more attention in the blogosphere.

It absolutely does and we appreciate you helping toward that goal.

We're always looking for other local perspectives whether North End, Dome District, Five Views, Oakland/Madrona, McKinley, Fern Hill, or where ever! You can start a FeedTacoma blog anytime. We're all Tacoma and it's all good.

I'm moderately liberal. I also find myself in love with a consumption (sales) tax instead of our current federal income tax; this concept is currently being touted by one (R) M.Huckabee.

Thoughts?

People from around the political spectrum have suggested that including Jerry Brown. However, most conclude it is regressive.

I do like the concept in a way though for congestion pricing for roads which basically places the cost of using roads on the people choosing to use them. That's a position that many free market advocates and environmentalists are agree on and Washington is moving towards.
