The Arts and Crafts Movement in the PNW

Book Talk

Lawrence Kreisman will talk about his new book The Arts and Crafts Movement in the Pacific Northwest, co-authored with Glenn Mason. This compendium is the first comprehensive exploration of the Arts and Crafts legacy in the PNW. The book covers architecture, furniture, pottery, textiles, painting, printmaking, photography, graphic arts and more. Nearly 400 photographs and period graphics, many of them rare, illustrate the history. The talk will include a visual presentation of photos from the book.

Lawrence Kreisman is program director of Historic Seattle, which produces an annual Bungalow Fair and Arts and Crafts lecture series. He is an Honorary Member of AIA Seattle and has authored numerous books on architecture and historic preservation in Seattle and the Northwest. He is recognized for his important work to bring public attention to the Northwest's architectural heritage and its preservation through courses, tours, exhibits, lectures, articles and books, and program development. Co-sponsored by Historic Tacoma.
