Building an Effective Peace Movement

Peace activist Glen Anderson, of Lacey, WA, will speak on Building an Effective Peace Movement. The presentation will suggest both macro-strategies and practical nuts & bolts techniques for organizing. A wide range of helpful hints on recruiting and keeping volunteers, raising money, and publicity will be given. Further points will show how a commitment to nonviolence is integral to win public opinion and change public policy towards peace.

Glen Anderson has been active in peace & justice movements since the 1960s. Since late in that decade, he has devoted his life to working as a volunteer for peace, nonviolence, social justice, and progressive political issues.

This event is the third in a 2007 speaker series sponsored by United for Peace of Pierce County.
