Tacoma Narrows Bridge Talk

John Robinson will talk about the construction of the new Narrows bridge with a slideshow presentation detailing the process. Robinson documented the construction for two years and the photos are a tribute to the hundreds of persons who designed and built the bridge.

John V. Robinson, a member of the Iron Workers Local Union 378, is a photographer and writer educated at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. He has authored several books, including Bridging the Tacoma Narrows and Spanning the Strait: Building the Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge. In 2006, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship to pursue his documentation of bridge builders.
