If you don't follow our FeedTacoma Master, Kevin Freitas, on Twitter, you should. He's currently live-tweeting pictures. The lack (not complete absence, but definite lack) of live-tweeted pictures over the history of Frost Park is astounding, given how many people have smartphones or at least phones capable of taking and sending pictures.

Here are the pictures Kevin's Tweeted so far:

There was some chalk art done during the past week that isn't apart of the official Chalk Off... the questions is: did she say yes?

Here are this week's entries for the tickets to Sesame Street Live, next weekend at the Tacoma Dome. I already have these in my possession, so once we determine the winner tomorrow, we'll make arrangements for delivery ASAP.

Once again, a big thank you to this week's Sponsor The Tacoma Weekly!

This one is a no-brainer for me! I VOTE for Max!

While it was a no brainer who to vote for, I love the Season 1 callback to Stowe-bot, and Hank's self-muppet is AMAZING!

What a beautiful day at the park, if you haven't joined us this year, there's like... 24 more weeks left! Get out here! We love to fill the park with people and chalk!

They're all so great! Definite props to Troy for making a Frost Park Sesame Street-style sign...I feel like that could be used as one of multiple OFFICIAL-like Frost Park logos.

Stowe's Stowebot callback makes me nostalgic in all the best ways.

Max almost had my vote, coming at us with the best damn Rainbow Connection since I saw Molly Lewis & The Doubleclicks perform it a few months back (linked mostly for RR, who I know appreciated the use of Molly's music in old chalk-off videos). However, I just counted up the current votes, and I think he's doing just fine without my vote.

So I vote for Mark, who up until I counted up the votes was in the paragraph above as the one I almost voted for. Truly, 'twas a close match! I'm voting for Mark not only because of the Star Wars reference, but also because Gonzo has always been my favorite. Hell...for a while, in the pile of unused firewood on the farm, there was a chunk of log with a curved branch that made me think of Gonzo's head. So I named it Gonzo, and it was a better toy than any action figure.

Everybody did a damn good job, and it was really hard to pick this week. I'm sad I wasn't there to chalk it up with you guys.

That said, I did get to see Iron Man 3 today, instead. Twice, even...and the second time was on somebody else's dime! It was still great on the second go.

Awesome Job everyone!
I vote Monlux. I love Max's too.

BTW, she said yes ;) Who can resist the power of Hamtaro. She was overwhelmed with cute-itude. (Lukas and Adi are going to prom.)
Oh, and Stowe, I have a little present for Barrett...was hoping to see you at Wayzgoose. Sorry we chalked over your moose, fully expected Friday's challenge to cover Hamtaro. Sorry to have grabbed prime real estate for the Prom ask, but didn't know where else to post the message without getting in trouble for graffiti, ya know? Thanks all! :)

Voting took a little longer than usual this morning because I counted the votes as the Count.

Vote Tally:
Max 7
Hank 3
Monlux 3
Ben 2
Troy 1
Stowe 1

Winner: MAX
I'll be in contact with the winner's parents to arrange delivery!

@Kathy - We were so tickled to see the prom ask on the wall, we didn't want to cover it up, because we wanted to make sure the message was delivered and received!

On behalf of the Frost Park Chalkies, we wish Lukas and Adi a joyous and fun prom!

Congratulations, Max!

And Kathy, never apologize for "taking up prime real estate" with chalk. The chalk-off has a specific time, but people have been coming out and "taking up prime real estate" with off-hours drawings for years. Art is good, and it's always a pleasant surprise when chalkies arrive at the park to find a bit of surprise artwork already waiting. Brian Bartelbaugh, especially, made a frequent habit of leaving us beautiful chalk presents on Thursday nights, knowing he couldn't make it the next day.

As to chalking anywhere else and getting in trouble for graffiti: should you ever feel the desire to chalk elsewhere, do it! Not because you shouldn't chalk at Frost Park at any time or day (you should), but because it's great when it spreads beyond that little chunk of the city. Remember that the chalk-off itself was considered graffiti, but we did it anyway. And the first time I ever saw Tollefson Plaza chalked was not part of any Art Museum event, as happens so often now, but simply an early Frost Park attendee deciding to spread the chalk love a bit, and inviting others to join.
