Kay Mullen Book Launch

Join us as we celebrate the release of Even the Stones, the new book by local poet Kay Mullen. Even the Stones gives glimpses into the long marriage of two people who left their respective religious communities, met, and married. The poems reveal the love that sustained them from the beginning to loss endured and the healing and renewal of life after the death of a loved one.

Kay Mullen's writings have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies including most recently, Appalachia and American Life in Poetry. She is the author of two full-length poetry books, Let Morning Begin (2001) and A Long Remembering: Return to Vietnam (2006). She is a recipient of the William Stafford Award. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, as well as Sundress Publications' Best of the Net 2009. She earned an MFA in poetry from Pacific Lutheran University, Rainier Writer's Workshop. Kay currently teaches poetry at Catherine Place, a center for women in Tacoma.
