A Community Conversation: Talking Baseball

It's the dream of most every young athlete ... playing professional sports, in this instance baseball. Cheering fans, winning the game with amazing plays, and playing for and winning a world championship. The reality, however, is very much different. Grueling travel schedules, the unremitting demand for excellence, the ever-present media attention, the day-to-day routines, Spring training, absent families, and the knowledge that a career may disappear in an instant. Four former professional baseball players share their stories of what it really means to play professional baseball: Jim Nettles, Doug Sisk, John Pregenzer and Wes Stock. Moderator: Bob Robertson.
