I vote RR...Not only was it a tense morning, but also because the artists intention lead to a cosmically good result - thus the image's power. Plus, who knew RR could draw so beautifully? Gorgeous use of purple. And a cool hat.

This one is tough. I love Britton's work. But I think I'm going to give it to RR this week for the lovely portrait of Jessica Smeall.

I vote RR.

by NineInchNachos
on 8/5/2011 @ 2:55pm
I change my vote from RR's hat to RR's Chalk art.

A vote for RR is a vote in support of Jessica Smeall, a young woman who once was lost, has recently been found. (and currently recovering at St. Joseph Hospital )

by Redorblack
on 8/5/2011 @ 2:58pm
Love the images this week. Andrea is amazing as usual. Voting for RR for the portrait of Jessica. I was contemplating attempting to draw her (didn't draw anything but I hula hooped with my son) but knew I didn't stand a chance of making a recognizable likeness. Glad RR chose to go for it, and the process was amazing... when he started I knew what he was going for from his reference picture, but couldn't believe it was going to be so good due to the colors he built from... well done.

Joel is turning into a regular Hudson River School painter of light en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson_River_Schoo...

A second, mid-life career perhaps?

Mr. Redorblack + Son,
Thanks for hooking me up with a coolie hat from the multi-cultural heart of the nation Arizona. And thanks for showing off your new electric wheels. And Thanks for the update on SolaRichard--guess he fell a couple weeks ago and is recovering as well.

Jessica has been found, therefore I vote for James Allan Tucker.

I will not lie, I was inspired by the thought of four delicious fish meals being hosted by one of our sponsors this week. And while I might not be good at drawing the succulent fish my mouth is watering for, I am really good at drawing logos. A vote for me is a vote to quiet the rumble in my belly.

I vote for Monlux's Hilltop Fish House

Here are the photos I took today.

I'm glad to hear that Jessica is found and is back home with her family.

While I am proud of my drawing today, I have to VOTE for MONLUX, because he is "really good at drawing logos".

I aspire to learn every week I draw, and I learn a lot from Mr. Monlux.

Thank you RR and kaotix for the kind words!

all the work is awesome, but RR gets my vote this week for not only a good likeness of our friend Jessica, but a PSA as well.

I vote for Monlux this week because that logo looks like it was drawn by some freakishly artistic robot. Huge props to Britton, Andrea, newcomer James, and i actually totally loved Kevin's piece too. Great to see everyone!

I'm actually rather proud of what I accomplished in just 15 minutes. So I vote for myself.

Seriously, look at that. I've done chalkings in 15 minutes before, but I never liked how they turned out. I'm damn proud of this one. Especially considering this version didn't take the whole 15 minutes...I scrapped my original start in favor of a larger fish.

I see the confusion I created with my surname flip-flopping is still reverberating throughout the ages :P

I cast my vote for James A. Tucker. It's a fun piece and rendered well, considering he's a chalk virgin (since elementary school, anyway). I'm interested to see any future entries!
