I love Swan Creek. The post-apocalyptic missing neighborhood at the top is particularly fascinating.

Options 1 and 2 look amazing. Not super-excited about option 3.

I especially like the idea of (legal) camping options and an on-site caretaker in residence. Having a CSA right there would be amazing as well. Option 2 is winning slightly in that regard although the loss of flush toilets at the Pioneer Way entrance is a bummer.

I grew up next to the Swan Creek area and it is truely one of the great gems in Tacoma. Urban camping sounds awesome! Wouldn't it be nice to camp right in town?

Urban camping is a quite good idea, and I rather like the concept. In the event of a civic emergency, such a campground could also be used as a short-term refugee camp. (or long term.)

Isn't that what that missing neighborhood was? Temporary WWII housing?

Yes. And at the center of the fireball, there was no sound.

Hi all - Next month Metro Parks will develop a preferred option for Swan Creek. Please take the online survey at: www.metroparkstacoma.org/page.php?id=636... You can also review background reports and see ideas that others - including lots of kids - have shared.

The preferred option will undoubtedly be a combination of the three options shown - a little of this option, a little of that one.

Thanks for sharing your all your ideas!!
