I almost forgot. The Sonics Guy has his own action figure:

With all this chatter on the facebook about Days of Rage, camp 6, burning of tires and boycotts against the Weekly Volcano for spending your hard earned advertising dollars on illegal Clear Channel billboard rentals you'd think that the Mayor's Civility code of conduct was just another pointless symbolic gesture, a plea really, for us all to show our quality... good sportsmanship etc. Well, ONE MAN has been living by example of the civility code: SAVE OUR SONICS GUY! I've been studying his dos and don'ts online. Great tips for anyone pushing a cause to win friends and influence people.

DID YOU KNOW: He hasn't given up on his dream. Right now he is working hard on a citizens initiative petition to get the current Washington State song (a real snoozer) changed to the old Super Sonics Sir Mix-A-Lot rap music song that I believe would be exceedingly progressive. Read about it here in the Weekly Volcano THEN boycott that treacherous weekly newspaper forever!

Protest/boycott all you want... I stand by my abuse/censoring of your art. Your drawing was giving everyone obvious lewd bedroom eyes! Also I am voting for boobies... I mean Ryan.

by NineInchNachos
on 5/27/2011 @ 1:55pm
James "Taliban" Stowe

by Joel 413
on 5/27/2011 @ 2:09pm
I am also voting for Ryan.

If I boycott Starbucks I can save a ton of money! Plus since it's breastfeeding friendly, you can sup coffee from the teet of the mermaid!

by debivans
on 5/27/2011 @ 2:18pm
My VOTE is going to RR's. Not just for the boobs. Boycott Starbucks! I miss my Sonics.

by L.S.Erhardt
on 5/27/2011 @ 2:45pm
I'm debating on this.
As far as I remember, this is only the second occurrence of frontal (albeit topless) female nudity @ Frost park. The first occurrence was like 2 years ago with the mermaid I chalked.

I'll decide later. Must debate whether or not to vote for the nipples... I mean RR.

by NineInchNachos
on 5/27/2011 @ 2:45pm
I vote for Debivans!

The weedle on the needle book has a special place in my heart.

by Erik
on 5/27/2011 @ 2:59pm
RR's piece is amazing.

Yet, I vote for Brian's masterpiece:

nice work from Brian this week (as always)

i vote for mr rr. even with the censorship debacle.

I have putting Frost Park Chalk-Off back on my Google calendar. (Didn't get it on this year and I keep forgetting it.) Miss you guys!

Interesting work this week though in the spirit of full disclosure I don't care about sports and don't drink coffee!

Brian is getting my vote for the dynamic image and for including references to both the Kalakala and our favorite Alien!

by Gin and Tonic
on 5/27/2011 @ 4:50pm
I vote for Brian's spiffy Seattle drawing. However I did like RR's nude as well. Stowe don't be such a goodie goodie stop censoring. If you don't like here eyes then don't look at her. See you all next week.

by Atreyu Hibiki
on 5/27/2011 @ 6:46pm
I vote for Stowe's official hopscotch.

by KevinFreitas
on 5/27/2011 @ 8:19pm
The hopscotch was brilliant and fun to participate in. I loved Brian's epic Seattle/Tacoma Space Needle mash-up. RR's boobies, I mean, chalk work this week was well done and I love Joel's shout out to recently spotted urban guerilla art. But I absolutely vote Debivans this week because, like RR, the Wheedle has a very special place in my heart. Read that book growing up and couldn't get enough of it.

Great work everyone and mobilize your friends tonight to get out the Frost Park vote!

by Dave_L
on 5/27/2011 @ 8:57pm
Me, too. Coming out of voting hiatus to vote for Debivans' Wheedle, also for sentimental reasons. Was given the book to read many, many years ago (surely the first printing).

Sorry I can`t boycott Star Bucks they pay my bills and I love the coffee but I must say excellent use of the moon R/R . I think my army is taking the night off so I need to vote for myself tonight.

by kimbermuffin
on 5/27/2011 @ 9:41pm
I vote for Brian and I'm boycotting the boobies! You don't need to draw nockers to get votes or your point across and if you do your point is invalid :-P

by L.S.Erhardt
on 5/27/2011 @ 10:39pm
Yup, it was about 2 years ago for the topless mermaid.

But anyway, I vote for Brian. Not because of the Sonics (who's departure I feel benefited the state... if only the Mariners and Sadhawks would follow suit), but because it reminds me of this:

I vote for Brian!

by Bjr

Thanks Thorax I love this album cover Can you imagine if I draw a mermaid I`m going to have to draw some big seashells to cover things up my 10 ft 3-d stuff would cause atrafic jam.

by Bjr
on 5/28/2011 @ 12:00am
I wish I could of added more chalkies in this piece today .

by NineInchNachos
on 5/28/2011 @ 7:53am
We are mammals. We all have boobs... and thanks in part to hormones in dairy products, our boobs are only getting "more empowered"

To say I drew chalk boobs to just get extra votes... HUMBUG!

by kimbermuffin
on 5/28/2011 @ 9:40am
Brian I laughed at the mental image of a huge 3D mermaid with all the traffic jams it would cause, I think it might even make the news, shells might help ;-)
And r&r lighten up I was just playing and your piece or "pieces" were chalked nicely, I understand it's art but I am a mother and I'd hate to have to explain to my two kids why theres nipples on the wall ;-)

I vote for RR Anderson's "Boycott Starbucks"--the uncensored version. Stop Censorship of Art--seriously.
