LouieFest '07

LouieFest '07 is the only national outdoor music festival celebrating the Northwest's rich music history. LouieFest is the namesake of The Wailers classic hit single, Louie Louie.

LouieFest is a free event open to all ages with a suggested donation of $5 at the gate. All donations will benefit the charitable music mentoring organization, Wailers Performing Arts Foundation. MOstuf Productions, based in Tacoma, is presenting LouieFest for the second year.

Four stages of live entertainment will be rotating regional and national acts featuring a mix of musical styles including rock, blues, jazz, folk, and Americana. Festival promoters are soliciting submissions from across the country.

Of special interest is "Women in Music" which will be featured on the main stage, Saturday, August 18. Girl bands, all female bands and female-fronted bands from all genres should contact festival promoters immediately to ensure a time slot for that date.

This year's festival will feature Music Row complete with music stores and instruments. Festival attendees are encouraged to visit Music Row and try out instruments, meet professional musicians, guitar players, and purchase CDs.

The highlight of the festival is more than 1,000 guitars playing Louie Louie in unison to break the Guinness World Record. To set the record, a minimum of 1,343 guitarists are requested to be in attendance for the event on Sunday, August 19 at 3:00 p.m. Electric or acoustic, guitar and bass players from across the country are encouraged to attend this historic event. Professional and amateur players are encouraged to participate. This year registration is free to all participants and early registration is recommended by visiting

Several countries from around the world are expected to participate this year in setting the Guinness World Record. Louie Louie will unite the world by plugging into LouieFest ’07. LouieFest captured the attention of Germany, Scotland, and Australia last year, adding to the attention from a host of other countries in previous years.
