Summer Sounds and Cinema

Phone home! This week's line-up features Scott Cossu in concert along with the movie E.T.

Gather family and friends and come to Summer Sounds and Cinema on Saturday, August 14 at Stewart Heights Park, 402 E. 56th St.

Jazz fusion artist Scott Cossu takes the stage along with one of the most popular aliens around: E. T. the Extraterrestrial.

The evening kicks-off with an outdoor concert at 7pm. Scott Cossu has produced many successful albums and has toured the world, giving more than 1000 concerts. His latest recording projects include a fusion of classical and jazz styles. Scott's work also includes scores for the acclaimed PBS series Nova, film documentaries and nature videos.

E. T. the Extraterrestrial begins at dusk. When E.T. is stranded on Earth his human friend Elliot helps him return home in this classic award-winning film. Relive the magic and watch along as youngsters in the audience discover the movie for the first time!

Each week this free event moves to a new location and features a different genre of music followed at dusk by the movie of the night. Seating is on the lawn so attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or a folding chair.
