Talk on The City Repair Project

Sustainable Tacoma-Pierce presents on ongoing series of open-to-the-public presentations in conjunction with their Tacoma Permaculture Design Course. This talk features Matt Bibeau talking about "Inspiration from Portland's City Repair Project". The City Repair Project was born from the desire of urban dwellers to transform their environment, turning street intersections into community spaces, and thereby spawning a nation-wide movement in beautifully inspiring ‘placemaking’. Come learn about City Repair’s amazing story and ongoing projects. Matt Bibeau will share about City Repair and also the story of his home, Tryon Life Community Farm. TLC Farm won attention for teaming urban farmers, natural builders, and community networks up against corporate development...and winning. Cost is a sliding scale $10 - $5, although students in the Course pay no extra fee.
