by NineInchNachos on 7/8/2010 @ 10:07pm | bump! |
by Thorax O'Tool on 7/8/2010 @ 10:12pm | Sadly, I work days tomorrow. No chalk for me.
But I will be there in spirit. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/8/2010 @ 10:47pm | THERE (probably) IS NO GOD at Friday Frost Park Chalk Challenge NO. 15!
MAIN PRIZE: a massively secular TACOMA ATHEIST T-SHIRT (see attached) courtesy of the TACOMA ATHEISTS "Guided by reason, informed by science, motivated by compassion. Who is this god person anyway?" |
by Thorax O'Tool on 7/8/2010 @ 11:09pm | I know who that God person is. I met him while riding the link last month. Honestly, I didn't expect God to be five foot-four, be crack skinny, twitchy and have not had a haircut/shave in 15 years. He just sat alone, saying to himself over and over and over that he "is the Light and the Resurrection". He sounded so sure of it that he didn't even notice the security guard asking him to get off @ the T-Dome station. I left before he had a chance to use his Zeus-lightning on the guard. I didn't want to be collateral damage to that. So I'm thinking either that dude was not God or we've all been really mistaken for a half-dozen millennia. |
by Erik on 7/8/2010 @ 11:11pm | Oh God. It's the Atheist Episode. The believers v. the unbelievers via chalk! ![]() |

by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 8:01am | must remember to bring my water bottle! |
by Mofo from the Hood on 7/9/2010 @ 8:49am | Watch Out! Those black-shirted atheists are always approaching people on the street to make converts and to hand out booklets about Carl Sagan, Richard Dawkins, and Superman. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 9:21am | 9th and Commerce update: Hot as hell today! ha ha ha |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 11:02am | RT @JeffsIceCream: Today is going to be a hot one! The trike is out in Parkland and the trailer is around the Port and Frost Park today.

Also, the guy wearing the Atheist t-shirt has really dark arms. Did he wear a scarf to the beach? |
by Joel 413 on 7/9/2010 @ 2:09pm | Hey everyone, I have basically the same pics, but you can see them in my Flickr Set!
Also, I VOTE for myself. |

by inbloodyrise on 7/9/2010 @ 2:39pm | i vote for stuart's.
i forgot to bring my tracts; do any of you have a personal relationship with tacoma soccer? |
by Erik on 7/9/2010 @ 2:44pm | I vote or RR Anderson's Adam the Alien on the Atheist love in day. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 2:56pm | Greetings Beautiful Mutants! My piece is designed to be photographed with your feet in frame so it looks like you're the victim of a reckless time-traveling Alien Life Form... thus shaking the foundation of your beliefs. HOW COULD A benevolent, self-existent, uncaused eternal god allow this to happen!? |
by TacomaAtheist on 7/9/2010 @ 3:14pm | I vote Stowe family. Those cracked me up. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 4:47pm | how is meant to be seen:
inspired by a string of hit and run happenings lately. WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE? THERE IS NO GOD!!! |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 4:53pm | more secular action photography:
I think my Debivans pic turned out well
haven't seen Dawn in awhile. Is great to have her back!
STOWE family winning hearts and minds
Joel asks: Why does Adam have a belly button?
|
by Leischen on 7/9/2010 @ 5:37pm | I vote for the Stowe family because it is just so darn cute. |
by UnstableArt on 7/9/2010 @ 8:14pm | I vote for RxR's Delorean driving alien! |
![]() by TacomaGnome on 7/9/2010 @ 8:24pm | I vote for Joel. Adam has quite the abdominal muscles. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 8:33pm | Joel does draw a wicked 'adam the alien' head. Riot. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 8:52pm | that said, I vote for RR. I heard he came up with the idea for this chalk entry in the shower. |
by spiderwings on 7/9/2010 @ 9:11pm | Edited: I vote for Poppy's ducks, actually. They're really darn cute. :) |
by badhairs on 7/9/2010 @ 9:21pm | When you gonna come up and draw, oh fabulous octopus friend? |
by FireFlyNexes on 7/9/2010 @ 9:24pm | I vote for Joel. I will be amused if he wins because that will mean Adam won in a strange a twisted way :D |
by debivans on 7/9/2010 @ 9:40pm | Family Stowe gets my VOTE. |
![]() by JesseHillFan on 7/9/2010 @ 9:44pm | RR gets my vote here |
by Thorax O'Tool on 7/9/2010 @ 9:48pm | Oh man... there is no question that the FSM gets my vote. But mad props to Joel. That's pretty slick. See y'alls next week |
by BooBooHopper on 7/9/2010 @ 10:01pm | i vote for the stowe family. |
by jamesstoweart on 7/9/2010 @ 10:27pm | I would like to vote for my son's collaboration piece entitled "Owlie and Octopuss-In-A-Tophat Share a Hotdog."
And my son, if he were old enough to be allowed to communicate through the interwebs would also like to vote for it. Count his vote how you will. |
by Earthdaughter on 7/9/2010 @ 10:34pm | Love that Adam showed up twice when he had to be out of town! Who knew the Alien had such a fab bod?! But I have to vote for RR's clever hit and run alien.
See you all next week. It'll be this year's rendition of my birthday bash. Special discount on Jeff's ice cream bars to chalkers, family and friends. Also I'll be the sponsor but I'll leave the prize a secret until RR posts it next week. Thanks for another inspiring year, Chalkie family! |
by jenyum on 7/9/2010 @ 10:42pm | I have to vote for Amanda and the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Ramen dictates that it be so. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 7/9/2010 @ 10:46pm | CHANGE OF VOTE!!! CHANGE OF VOTE!!!. I just now noticed that RR's has to do with hit and run. Being likely the sad story that influenced it was my own, I hereby officially change my vote to RR. |
by KevinFreitas on 7/9/2010 @ 11:02pm | Hmm... I love Debivan's trip this week and the pond ducks were too super cute. The Stowe's also tugged at those same emotions! RR's makes way more sense now and I love the synchronicity with his and Joel's both featuring Adam the Alien! Wowza, nice work by Stuart and Raven and Amanda's FSM! I love Dawn's tasty looking Frosty too! Eesh... I vote for Poppy's duck pond! Super creative use of the space and it came out just splendid! |
by Courtney on 7/9/2010 @ 11:13pm | Gotta vote for my family- I vote for the Stowe family.
Joel's with Adam's head on it is funny, Really like RR's and Amanda's too. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 11:44pm | need to explore more with the feet-in-photo chalk art genre. maybe a beach scene next.. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/9/2010 @ 11:52pm | Ye Gods, Joel! You forgot to draw the PEE PEE! |
by Joel 413 on 7/9/2010 @ 11:59pm | Maybe that's why the alien head looks so forlorn?! |
by Joel 413 on 7/10/2010 @ 12:11am | That was a tough race and changed leaders a couple of times but here are the results:
RR: 7 Stowes: 6 Joel: 4 Amanda: 2 poppy: 2 Stuart: 1 I was going to say that there would be much cussing from AtA that he didn't vote, or call upon his minions, but I think in the end he'll be happy. Congrats RR! |
by Joel 413 on 7/10/2010 @ 12:11am | P.S. if we count Barrett it's a tie. And I think in the past we have said one vote per account. |
by NineInchNachos on 7/10/2010 @ 12:24am | YES! my first triumph of the season!!! Thank you for your support my friends. I believe I have a mandate from the people... vested with social capital and stuff.
Today was a labor of Hercules with that sun. To the folks to showed up and accomplished "Art" you are hard core. |
by Erik on 7/10/2010 @ 12:44am | YES! my first triumph of the season!!!
Your win RR makes me believe in God again. God bless you! |
![]() by JesseHillFan on 7/10/2010 @ 6:08am | Congrats RR you WON ! |
by TacomaAtheist on 7/10/2010 @ 8:26am | Grats grats RR! Thanks for putting on this shindig. It was lots fun. |
by TacomaAtheist on 7/10/2010 @ 8:40am | Also, RR is probably the only one who would wear the t-shirt and not use it as a mop. |
by Dave_L on 7/10/2010 @ 9:22am | ![]() [I don't have a FeedTacoma account, so I'm hijacking Dave_L's] Had I been able to log-on last night (waiting all night for the IT-guy), I would have voted for one of my lovely little creatures that Raven and Poppy drew. Gotta love those little ducks, so I would have voted for Poppy. And removed 7 votes from RR, despite the fact that his (grr) winning piece had great perspective and composition. |
by Adam the Alien on 7/10/2010 @ 10:54am | Ha! I'm loving the Alien depictions! I guess I was there even though I...wasn't there. Wasn't able to vote because I wasn't near a computer (I was dancing myself into dehydration by midnight, I think). I'll see everybody next week. |
by tacomachickadee on 7/10/2010 @ 11:06am | RR: Love the fact that if you stand in the pic it looks like you're the victim! Awesome use of dimension. If I hadn't fallen asleep ... i would have voted RR! :) Though very much tempted by so many others. :) |
by Dave_L on 7/10/2010 @ 2:00pm | ![]() Grrr...I accidentally deleted the photo in the post above... |
