Tim Sale @ Comic Book Ink

Signing and Q&A with artist of Heroes and Captain America: White

Tacoma, Washington's COMIC BOOK INK, is proud to announce that SUPERSTAR ARTIST, and former Washingtonian, TIM SALE will be at the store on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, 2008 at 2:00pm for a Q&A and SIGNING!!

"To have someone visit the shop, who is the caliber of artist that Mr. Tim Sale is," said store owner, JOHN MUNN, "Is incredibly rare and we are so fortunate to have him here! The world knows his artwork from NBC TELEVISION's HEROES Series, but his impact as an artist in the comic book industry is immeasurable. He has worked for MARVEL COMICS, DC COMICS, DARK HORSE COMICS and so many others that we can't possibly list them here."

TIM SALE ( was born in Ithaca, New York, on May 1st, 1956, but GREW UP IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. After studying art at the UNIVERSITY of WASHINGTON for two years, he moved to New York City and attended the John Buscema Workshop and The School of Visual Arts just long enough to realize he didn't want to be in school anymore, whereupon he returned to Seattle and worked a variety of odd jobs from Taco Time to grocery store clerk.

The body of Sale's comics work has been with collaborator JEPH LOEB. The duo, credited in their comics as 'storytellers', produced popular work at DC COMICS such as BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, BATMAN: DARK VICTORY and CATWOMAN: WHEN in ROME. They have also created the so-called 'COLOR' BOOKS for MARVEL COMICS starring characters such as SPIDER-MAN (Blue), DAREDEVIL (Yellow) and HULK (Grey). Their newest 'color" book is for Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA (White) and the 'zero' issue, and posters, will be available at the signing.

Tim Sale is currently working on artwork for the NBC TELEVISION Program HEROES. His artwork appears in the show as the work of the precognitive artist ISAAC MENDEZ. Mendez' work in the 9TH WONDERS comic book on the show is also the work of Sale. Additionally, the FONT used throughout the show in the various captions and credits was created by Sale and is based on his handwriting style. Sale's frequent collaborator Jeph Loeb was also a former writer and producer on the show.
