Ann Wright Talk

Ann Wright, Colonel US Army (ret), will speak at a brown-bag lunch held in her honor. Wright will speak about her book Dissent: Voices of Conscience: Government Insiders Speak Out Against the War in Iraq. In his forward to the book, Daniel Ellsberg says, "This is a book that should be leaked into the government". The event is sponsored by Associated Ministries. Colonel Ann Wright holds a Master's Degree in National Security Affairs from the US Naval War College. She spent 13 years on active duty in the US Army and 16 years in the Army Reserves. Upon retiring, she became a diplomat. Over the course of her State Department career, Wright served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. embassies in Afghanistan (which she helped open following the 2001 US invasion of Afghanistan), Sierra Leone (an embassy which she helped close and then reopen again), Micronesia and Mongolia, and also served at U.S. embassies in Uzbekistan Kyrgyzstan, Grenada, and Nicaragua.
