Alexander McCall Smith Talk


Celebrate Pierce County READS with a presentation and book signing by Alexander McCall Smith, author of the wildly popular The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, set in Botswana. Tickets are available FREE online after April 1. King's Books will be selling books at the event.

Alexander McCall Smith is the author of more than 60 books, including fiction series, children's books, and academic titles. McCall Smith was Professor of Medical Law at the University of Edinburgh and currently serves as Professor Emeritus. He has worked extensively in the field of bioethics. He was the vice-chair of the Human Genetics Commission of the UK and is a former member of the International Bioethics Commission of UNESCO. McCall Smith also plays the bassoon for the Really Terrible Orchestra, an amateur musical ensemble.
