Warriors escape with win over Fife
Behind a quick start and a huge defensive stop on the game’s final drive, the Clover Park Warriors pulled out a 28-25 win over Fife tonight in the league opener for both teams. With under 20 seconds left and the Trojans having a first-and-goal at the Warriors’ eight-yard line looking for the winning score, Clover Park’s Brandon Pritchett sacked Fife quarterback Andrew Waltner and forced a fumble that was recovered by the Warriors to secure the win and end a frenetic second half. The Warriors started quickly, stopping the Trojans on their nine-yard line on the game’s opening drive and then going 91 yards in 12 plays, capped by Pritchett’s nine-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0. After an onside kick recovery, quarterback Keila Pritchard hit Brady Daly for a 40-yard touchdown to put the Warriors up 14-0 with just under five minutes left in the first quarter. ...read
